Today’s Cryptogram

NCOY NCCLR UCF JBFZ FZY YVYR ITF JBFZ FZY GBUW, EUW FZYMYKCMY BR JBUDYW ATQBW QEBUFYW INBUW. ---JBNNBEG RZELYRQYEMY

Today’s CG is courtesy of the Arkansas Gazette.

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER

Solution to our last puzzle:

LIKE EVERY ITALIAN. MOM VALUED BEAUTIFICATION IN EVERY AREA OF HER LIFE, AND I TRY TO DO THE SAME. RACHEL RAY

Got the author by just by looking at it. From there, it was just a matter of plug-and-play ...

Less than 2 minutes. Got the first name of the author just looking at it and then the rest fell in to place.

I love these cryptograms! Highlight of my morning!

As fast as I can type. Find the common three-letter word and the rest opens up.

3:40.27

Normal route of attack yields a couple of three and four letter words right off, which give up the author, and it’s all downhill.

Love the descriptions of when the letters start to fall into place. We should have a contest for the most poetic of them all.

Here’s a few I’ve heard, starting with “From that point it was like...

Ripe fruit.”

The final turn of the Kentucky Derby.”

A 100 yard dash to the finish line.”

Writing to catch up with my brain.”

Don’t believe it took me that long to see the author’s name. I should have identified it instantly. (forehead smack)

A guess at the name gave me FZYMYKCMY and the rest fell softly into its place.
