Some dealers were removing the nose cones and spoilers and reverting them back to regular Roadrunners because of poor sales.

“if people back then only knew what their muscles cars would be worth in later years- “

Yes, I wasn’t thinking very far out when I purchased my 1963 Silver Blue, Corvette Stingray Coupe from the original owner in 1964. But I still have it today, it’s been garaged all of its life, and has only 70,000 miles showing on the odometer.

“The ‘Bird’s B-5 blue paint and white interior combination make it even more uncommon, but the fact that its body is sketchy...”

Sketchy? Who’s writing this stuff the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom?

My brother had a 1968 Road Runner, blue, 383 engine with 8 track player.
What a beauty- wished he would have kept it.

Ha! I thought so! And you’re the kind of car-guy who’d remember it, too. Wow, those two machines are in fantastic shape by comparison!

Hang on! Is that the same blue car with the Plymouth decal in Post 22?

I seriously doubt it. The large decal was probably an option.

70k would take care of all the pet projects I have in pieces.

I have done a lot of fixing and preservation myself. However I don’t have a shop with a lift and some help. Hence the slow go.

Think I saw that thing on American Pickers. The owner wouldn’t sell it.

My dad professionally restored high-end cars. He always said that you can fix bashed up and beaten panels but rust was always with you.

I can relate, I am restoring my 67 GTO that I have owned for over 30 years. I don’t have the space for a lift unless I raise the shop roof.
