Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones kick off North American tour
CBS News ^ | 6/22/2019 | CBS News

An energetic Mick Jagger skipped, spun, sprinted and pranced Friday night as the Rolling Stones launched their North American tour at Chicago's Soldier Field. The 75-year-old showed no sign of ill health three months after the tour was postponed because a doctor said he required medical treatment.

By all visible indications: Jagger was Jagger.

Before a sold-out crowd of around 60,000 at the Chicago Bears home stadium, the band's finger-wagging frontman opened with "Street Fighting Man," running from the stage in the end zone area and down a narrow stage jutting into the crowd on what is normally the 30-yard line of the football field.

Rock stars are going to be dying off in a big way in tbe 2020s just of old age.

Well that, and the pickup truck bed loads of cocaine they did in the 70s and 80s. Mostly just the cocaine though. That may well be why ole Micky needed a new ticker.

Hey, Keef is still looking like a 17-year-old cherub.

In a George Romero movie.

Gramps in the back (Charlie Watts) gives the whole thing away.

I guess he's not following the same vampiric regimen as Mick and Keith.

Take all the makeup off of them too and see what it looks like.

I’m a rock musician. To me, rock and roll is an attitude, not an age. As the meme says, “You don’t stop playing because you get old. You get old because you stop playing.”

“Years ago, Letterman did a Top 10 List...”

LOL. Didnt see that, but I remember Leno did a funny bit where he sent Mick a membership to AARP for his 50th birthday.
Gee whizz, that was 25 years ago.

Arthritis in the hands has killed the careers of many rock & blues guitarists.
Glad Keef is still wailing.

As for younger musicians, my trick is to note one good one on YouTube, then listen to similar performers who are listed alongside them, or session musicians who have played with them. I’ve discovered lots of fantastic music you’ll never hear on the radio.

Check out Paolo Nutini.
Then go to Bettye LaVette.

I’m not so much into hard rock these days.
More into bluegrass, delta blues.

Also a lot of the old timer rock stars who haven’t had any “hits’ lately are actually doing far more interesting things now than decades ago, when they were “famous.”

Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull)
Robert Plant (Led Zep)

Dr. John recently died— that guy played with the Stones & 1000s of others. He was so much more of a musician than his famous persona & his entire catalog is worth checking out on youtube.

Years ago I met this woman who bragged about being a Stones groupie back in the sixties. She claimed to have been a friend of Brians and swore that Mick had him killed. I forget the details of hervconspiracy story, but this woman was adamant about it.

Thank you.

July 19 Jacksonville might do the trick. If, not Miami.

Be my fourth time...and probably last.

Charlie Watts has aged more gracefully than any of those other guys.

He struck me as being about 60 back in the mid 70s.

He didn’t get anyone’s heart. He had heart surgery, and was either a valve replacement or a stent put in, both common procedures these days.
