It’s the democrat primary that’s going to put excess demand on popcorn.

Shouldn’t come as any surprise.

‘We’ warned everyone to stock up.

Maybe they did, causing a shortage.

Of course, no one ‘mentioned’ the approval for more ethanol did they? (I know, I know....but may as well have some ‘fun’)

The popcorn sold at movie theaters makes way more money for the operators than the movie. And the cost to you is almost all profit, since the cost of the popcorn itself is next to nothing.

About the only things comparable in profitability are soaps/shampoos/detergents and bottled water. There, the most expensive things are the containers.

I love popcorn but horrible for teeth and digestion. God help you if a kernel gets stuck in your throat. I’ve had that happen and it’s terrible.

"...popcorn shortage..."

Wait. So we recover from the profound heartbreak of the alleged avocado shortage and now THIS potential tragedy besets us?

Wow! I won the commodity game for once. I picked up a 24 pack of 6oz Great Northern Popcorn Co. Kettle ready packs a few weeks back. I’m rich! (Dang good Theater tasting Popcorn to boot)

The Strategic Artificial Butter Reserve is still topped off though, so no need to panic just yet.

If the wet blanket ‘rain gods’ were sent on a mission to destroy the popcorn crop, you know the show is going to be good.

“Popcorn will be scarce this year as Midwest rains prevent planting”

and just when it’s going to be needed so badly.

at any rate, this is a good warning that i should stock up on my favorite white-kernel popcorn

Guess what happens to the price of popcorn and the farmer who successfully plants and harvests it this year?

Yep. He gets rich. Supply and demand.

We just returned from Cleveland, Ohio to home in East Central Indiana.
There are a large number of fields either in weeds or water.
No corn higher than a foot, and that was very rare.
Typically we would be seeing corn three , four or even more times higher.
Almost no soy beans out!
I pray the rest of the growing season is perfect!
