Before he paused campaign activities to remain in South Bend, Indiana, reeling from the officer-involved shooting death of a 53-year-old black man, Buttigieg was scheduled to trek to Los Angeles for a fundraising swing, including an event at the Beverly Hills home of mega producer Ryan Murphy thats co-hosted by a long list of high-profile LGBTQ Hollywood figures. According to one fundraising source, the event, with tickets starting at $1,500 per person, sold out a month ago and was likely to bring in at least $250,000. It is being postponed.
Theres a reason this group was so eager to meet Mayor Pete. For many of these influential donors, this will be their first ever chance to contribute to a viable gay presidential candidatesomething that would have been hard to fathom just over a decade ago, when their choices were a field of top prospects who opposed same-sex marriage, or just over a generation ago, when the Democratic campaign viewed LGBTQ money as too risky to take.

Whoda thunk it?
Maybe they prefer virgins.
As long as they’re throwing their money away, I say, Good.
I’m sure these faggots will be “lined up behind” buttplug.
As the mayor of the 4th largest city of Indiana, Buttplug has no business being a serious contender for President.
This shows the power of the media to create the narrative. If he was not a practicing sodomite, he would be laughed off the stage as the mayor of a crappy city in Indiana. Sad really.
Only way Butt will get serious traction is if the moneyed Hollyfags get behind him and push harder.
I imagine they'd be delighted.
Oooh, gotta get that image out my brain.
What the hell is a gay donor? If they’re so rich why do they get certified victim status?
Viable? He's at 7%...and that's only because the MSM is cheering for him.
The only thing I know about him is that he's Queer.
Cory Booker is Black AND Queer.
Governor Palin was ridiculed for being a Mayor, even though she was a fricking Governor, and a state regulator.
He’s just not flaming enough for them.
I think there is a tendency to see “gays” as a monolithic block. My impression of the lesbians I have met is they don’t like anybody, let alone guys who identify as “gay.” (I think gay means guys liking guys whereas lesbian refers to women. In other words, there are no “gay” women.) Then, there are trans people, who, similar to lesbians, don’t seem to like anybody. Then, there are guys who cross-dress, but don’t identify as “gay.” (I use quotes on gay because I am not sure it has a definition everyone would agree on.) On top of all this, if you put everyone who is not identifying as heterosexual in one basket and counted them, they would, together, be less than five percent of the population. And, while it’s true there is a lot of money there, there is not a lot of political power there. And, what power there is, is divided across a variety of interests.
There is no cache about getting behind a “gay” candidate like there was in getting behind the first (sort-of) black candidate. I would be astonished if this small town mayor got the nomination, or, even the vice presidential slot. His real constituency is too small. The presidential candidate has to appeal to a wide cross section of interests, including all the other victim groups. (That’s going to ba a task worth a beer and a bushel of popcorn.) The vice president has to bring something special to the table, like he is popular in a key state.
Looking at the entire Democratic field, it’s astonishing that not one appears to meet enough criteria to be a clear winner in the primary, or the main election.
Sarah Palin being Republican, was not held to the same standard that Democrats are.
Buttgig is too old.
I’m so sick and tired of everyone’s sexuality.
I would vote for a tree humping purple non-binary martian if I were convinced they would only implement conservative policies.
“Hollywoods Top Gay Donors Have Mixed Feelings About Buttigieg”
What? Some think he’s hot and some think he’s not?
“viable gay presidential candidate
seriously?
only in Leftist Bizarro World does polling at 7.1% equal “viable” ...
Or, meet him at a bar and ask if they can push in his stool?
