...a minority of people who had the advantage of obtaining a degree should have their debt paid off by hardworking taxpayers...

If some of the "recent Engineering grads" I've encountered over the past 10 years are even a semi-valid sample, I've got to question the word "advantage" being associated with ANYTHING done by our education system.

>High school "graduates" who can't make change, compose a coherent (or legible) sentence or recognize, let alone balance a checkbook.

>So-called "Engineers" who, if the Cut/Paste functions were stricken from their computers (or even worse have the power go off) couldn't design their way out of a wet paper bag and, worst of all, don't have the dimmest notion of how their work actually gets converted into actual physical objects.

(I hauled a couple of the new hires I was saddled with out to the machine shop to try and impart at least a hint or two on that subject and caught such **** from Upper "Management" about it I very nearly quit on the spot....instead of waiting that last few weeks while our house was closing and quitting THEN.)

A friend sent a note to Dan Scavino and President Trump—it is 30 days of not hearing from Q, no DECLAS, and no one is telling us what is going on.

Hope it gets to the Q team.

It’s a shame what most universities and colleges are turning out, and the price tag, out of sight.

But when Social Justice is ruling the campus....

I’d like to see our youth turn to private colleges preferably religious ones.

Hubby got a call a few years back by a former boss begging him to come back to work, can’t find qualifies people to do the job.

Don’t know where this is going to end....

Don’t know where this is going to end....

Been taking little bites at that apple for kids/grandkids for many years now.

Have a pretty fair excuse for a library I've accumulated and dragged all over the country that has lent out to our kids/any interested neighbors.

I've lost track of the hours I've spent coaching kids on Math and Science. (I think this little friend of our 14yo grand daughter has caught the Engineer bug from me...and that's just a recent one.)

Only problem is that most of our grandkids have picked up enough that they are bored half out of their minds with the last years of High School so we just tell 'em to stick it out and make all the right noises until they get the diploma.

(I don't think I'll ever be forgiven by that HS Math teacher for sending my sliderule along with #1 grandson...especially after the boy had to show him how to use it.)

All four of our county high schools now have programs where when the graduate walks across the stage to receive their diploma they can also have worked for a second associate degree diploma from IU-PU camp or certification in a trade. Lot more kids staying in school.

Get the government out of the student loan business. Make the universities loan money, if they choose, from their endowments. If they aren’t providing an education that results in being able to pay back the loan, the schools are on the hook.

Look into what Purdue University (under Mitch McDaniels) is doing. They are partnering with corporation to pay for students education. The company also provides internships and summer work when possible.
