Heard today in Bible class that a missionary we support is saying that many muslims are having dreams of Jesus and in the dreams are being told to seek out a preacher to tell them about Jesus. Anyone else having missionaries telling them this?
I have met a young Muslim woman in town who has converted to a Christian several months back. She was recently baptized in another city. Her family will not communicate with her. They say she is crazy.
Hubby and I are missionaries. While we don’t work directly with that group, one of our colleagues on the field does. He has told us of this occurrence.
He piques their interest through dreams. Then, we teach Scripture to teach and train them in The Faith.
I am working very hard to teach in the tradition of Calvin, Luther, and Sproul.
“....God says, ‘THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND....”
.God’s Spirit is sorely needed by mankind — We have no idea how to get out of this mess without God’s help.
Christian missionaries in Jordan doing humanitarian work are asked not to share their faith unless approached by Jordanians to do so. Then they are free to answer questions, bear witness, etc.
According to him, there are a lot of secret Christians in Jordan who maintain a Muslim facade to avoid family conflict but are Christians in their heart, read the Holy Bible and get together for house meetings.
If you think of the Holy Ghost as being a fire, and those living with the Holy Ghost in them, and working through them, then as they encounter people they can feel the “heat and fire” of the Holy Ghost, and then their spirit and soul recognizes the truth, then the truth will manifest in their dreams, and or subconscious, drawing them to Jesus. If muslims hear the Word, the Truth in the Word will lead them from the false god of islam, to the true God of Abraham, and our Savoir Jesus Christ. My 2 cents worth.
I personally had a “dream” about Jesus, his thrown and the afterlife when I was 17. It changed my life forever and began a journey to seek answers that have led to accepting Jesus has my Lord and Saviour. I put dream in quotes because never have I experienced anything so real on so many levels that it was nothing like any other dream.
It has been going on for several years. There are several YouTube videos talking about the phenomenon.
If you have listened carefully over the years to Dr. Stanley, then you will have noticed that he stands against the things that many Pentecostal churches, denominations, and individuals believe it. He is always respectful, but he does not believe those things at all. Thanks for your observation.
Has been going for over 20 years, I have met a few.
As for God no longer uses dreams or visions is too silly to discuss...of course God still uses dreams and visions....your the one that needs to read the bible.
My husband likes to listen to him when he gets up in the morning. I always tell him that he’s a sincere Christian, but he’s off base when it comes to the subject of the Holy Spirit, healing, etc.
God always runs to meet us if we look for Him, and He knows exactly what each one needs to experience in Him.
I go to a large mainstream protestant church in upper middle class white suburbia.
Our pastor told the story where he was doing a wedding on a Saturday. This Muslim man walks into the church. We have some security/guides. The man wants to talk to the leader of the church. The security guy tells him that he is in the middle of a wedding ceremony. “Why do you want to see the pastor?”
The man says he has had this dream night-after-night of Jesus. And the image of our church. So day after day he drives to all of the churches in the large city. Finally sees the church that fits the church in his dream! OUR church!
Even our pastor was pretty amazed.
Although he said that it shouldn’t surprise us. It isn’t that our church is so great. Our God is so great! One of the tenants of our faith is that God sought us out - HE chose us first! We are so full of sin that it is against our very nature for us to chose Him.
Acts 2:17: In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
Revelation 3:20. Jesus is speaking: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
So just as we can knock on Jesus’ door (the parable of the man wanting bread from his neighbor, and the neighbor finally relents just to get back to sleep), Jesus is knocking on our door!
In our church we have adopted a church of refugees from Africa. It started off with just Rwandan refugees. It now has something like people for 10 nations from Africa.
The leaders of the church are from tribes that still fight against each other. It is an amazing testimony of the reconciliation of God when two close brothers in Christ talk about how their tribes and relatives killed the other’s families.
On Pentecost their church combined with our church (which they do once a month) and it was an amazing service of just music. (We do that once a year).
Songs in English, Swahili, and Spanish. We have adopted a Chinese church and I’m guessing in the next year or so we will add a song in Chinese.
I’m still a fairly bigoted guy. Yes - I notice a person’s race. But God is making progress with me!
Back in the 1970’s and 80’s I worked as the Accounting Mananger at LeTourneau University, there lots of students that went on to be missionaries all over the world!
Many of our students are planning to go there to study aviation. I’m thinking that quite a few of our colleagues attended there. Good school.
