I've heard this from missionaries of multiple denominations. One of the local pastors in our neighborhood has a daughter working in Jordan doing humanitarian work. The King of Jordan is one of those few moderate Muslims you hear about.

Christian missionaries in Jordan doing humanitarian work are asked not to share their faith unless approached by Jordanians to do so. Then they are free to answer questions, bear witness, etc.

According to him, there are a lot of secret Christians in Jordan who maintain a Muslim facade to avoid family conflict but are Christians in their heart, read the Holy Bible and get together for house meetings.

We employ a similar method. We also seek out and even try to facilitate those opportunities.
