Other countries are taking steps to atone for their shameful past treatment of L.G.B.T. people. The United States should too.
The New York Police Department apologized last week to the gay community for the 1969 raid of the Stonewall Inn, the fallout of which is widely credited with spurring the contemporary gay rights movement at home and abroad. Timed to coincide with Stonewall’s 50th anniversary, the statement by Commissioner James P. O’Neill said in part: “The actions taken by the N.Y.P.D. were wrong — plain and simple” and “the actions and the laws were discriminatory and oppressive, and for that, I apologize.” The apology is the culmination of a decades-old struggle by gay activists for recognition of wrongdoing on the part of the police — one that few activists thought could ever become a reality.
With the surprise apology, the United States has taken its most significant leap yet into “gay reparation,” or policies intended to address the legacy of state-sanctioned repression of homosexuals. Although relatively new to the United States, gay reparation has been debated and legislated around the world for close to two decades and is a logical progression in the maturation of the gay rights movement. Having largely secured rights once thought to be virtually unattainable — especially same-sex marriage — gay activists, especially in Western democracies, are turning their attention to addressing the historical legacies of homosexual repression.

Now I get to receive reparations. I get to call you all homophobic. I get to tell your children that they should consider their sexuality might not be straight - they’re really some gender fluid version of 63 sexual orientations and have public school teachers “educate” you on transgenderism. I get to tell you what bathrooms people can use. I’ll also have a wedding where I’ll force Christian bakers, florists, and photographers to put their labor towards my celebration, enforced by the threat of fines or jail, where I still get to have other partners outside my “marriage”.
...but if you preach to me all this is wrong, then you’re “judging” me and “forcing” your beliefs on me! Jesus said you shouldn’t “judge”. So go away and let me saturate myself in all forms of virus transferring behavior.

Listening ad nauseum to everyone blame ‘homes without fathers’ for everything the punks today are being destructive about, I keep thinking back to all the FATHERS who never came home alive from WW II.
Thousands of kids never saw their fathers at all—and many only knew them for brief years.
YET-—the destructiveness of today certainly was NOT common then.
IMO, The rage of today’s ‘youth’ is a result of handing out ‘participation trophies’ just for showing up and lavishing far too much praise on these kids while they are growing up.
They get older & bigger, and when the general public isn’t handing them kudos just for breathing, they lash out. They have little or no self control & most have very little self-incentive to succeed. They have hd everything handed to them & now, they want that to continue.
Parents have to pay for health insurance until I am 26? A JOKE. MY parents didn’t even have health insurance. I was out of the house before I was 19, and bought my own house before I was 27. ON $6 an hour in wages. We patched each other up over minor things, and rarely were taken to a doctor. All 4 of us survived just fine.
My point was that everyone has something to deal with in life, some more than others, so picking out a few politically correct groups, like Gays, and saying they deserve reparations is absolutely absurd.
Vic Morrow and two child actors were killed in 1982 by a stunt helicopter crash during the filming of “Twilight Zone: The Movie.” The copter came straight down on him. He was in the exact wrong place, at the exact wrong time.

Same with Harvey Milk. Everything I’ve read on his death points to whoever came around that corner, was unarmed, and standing there at the time was a dead person.
How about reparations to heterosexuals for homosexual assaults?
Which homosexual group do do I sue to get paid for being assaulted 4 times in my life by homosexual men?
I’d wager that more of us have been assaulted by them than them assaulted by us!
We just don’t cry, whine or make a federal case out of it!
We “take care of business,” and go on our way!
Hopefully, having taught the homosexual an important life lesson!
I want reparations for black crime! They have cost American taxpayers far more than their population!
Why not reparations for the rest of us for having to listen to this s__t.
