It’s oddly entertaining watching large companies kowtow to this sort of stuff. Sure, I’d fire the employee for the way she handled it, thank people for the suggestions, and then forget about it. If people keep bringing it up, tell them that proof that our stores were “racially sensitive” is in how rarely such a thing happens.
And when people argue that once is too much, that’s when you say you agree, but that perfection is the enemy of excellence.

I go to Old Navy maybe once every 5 years. I happened to go last week (relative requested Old Navy stuff for birthday). It wasn’t too busy on a weekday lunchtime, and I had a few minutes to look around. I was even tempted to look at some of the sale short sleeve shirts for myself. I hate the LOUD music in Old Navy, but seemed to be tolerating it that day.
Then noticed, over by the checkout, was a person creating a HUGE scene, complaining loudly, there were FIVE staff people all trying to calm her down and “help” her. It seemed like she had ordered something online that she did not receive fast enough, so bought the same thing in the store, and they were only offering a refund of “sale price”. She didn’t seem to have remembered to bring any paperwork or receipts with her.
She had multicolored hair, and was wearing a very tight spandex sports bra and leggings (bare midriff). She was about 5’5”, and probably weighed well over 200 lbs.
I expect she went and posted stuff later on her social media, to indicate that Old Navy had been “racist” to her.
Not sure how it was resolved, because I just quickly paid for my purchase and got out of there.

Maybe the woman was not acting the way most shoppers do. That doesn’t make her a bad person, but I can see a store employee becoming a bit suspicious, but it has nothing to do with race.
Racial profiling? She was detained for suspicion of shoplifting. Or, is this girl saying she was racially profiled because she believes blacks are inherent thieves?

Wait, wait, wait... she came into the store wearing a shirt with a visible tag on it, and had her receipt with her?

Oh... someone who wants to look like they shoplifted something, be followed, be confronted, film the confrontation, and then whip out the receipt that she just happened to have on her... I mean, unless she JUST BOUGHT THAT SHIRT why would she be wearing it with the tag visible and the receipt on her? Indeed, even if she just bought that shirt... this was a set up, I think.
