Cup Finals have been in spring for longer than you’ve been alive. But some fool whining about that is an important part of the tradition. Nonetheless, I consider ice hockey to be a winter sport, baseball a spring and summer sport and football a fall sport. Football in February, baseball at Thanksgiving and ice hockey in the summertime just ain't right.

I do think the NHL needs to figure out how to get the season over with by May 31st. Even fans of hockey start to focus on other things once June rolls around - and the ice will be mushy in most NHL cities come June, so not ideal playing conditions.
Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues on winning their first Cup. At the very least, the Blues should send Sabres GM Jason Botterill a fruit basket for his contribution of O'Reilly for peanuts.
