X-Men: Dark Phoenix is on track to have the worst opening in the history of the franchise. The movie collected just $14 million on Friday, making it the lowest debut ever for an X-Men movie, reports Variety on Saturday. The Simon Kinberg-directed Phoenix, which cost $200 million to make, was initially projected to gross $5060 million with the studio expecting a $4050 million debut.

Least advertised Marvel movie of past five years. For each occasion in past six months that I saw a preview come up for Dark Phoenix....there must have been fifteen previews come up for new Spiderman movie. I think they knew last year that the story for this X-Men movie was awful weak, and still proceeded on.
Not a great first day but 14 million in one day is nothing to sneeze at. It will make the 200 million back through streaming.
X-men has been ridden to death! Just boring now!
That Sophia girl from GOT was out making ahole leftist comments before the release. We vowed to never give them a dime. Just deserts to that smarmy, crappy actress.
Not only that she is a terrible actress. All she can do is stare and has a camera looking mean. Google her and look at the pictures theyre all full of Her trying to look glamorous and she just doesnt quite make it .
I suppose the irony is that apart from the origin story/stories, many are in agreement that the Dark Phoenix saga was the high point of the X-Men book.
But they already covered a good portion of this ground with the Famke Janssen as Jean Grey films.
So how long until Sophie Turner insults fans refusing to eat the crap sandwich they were served...
Go to hell Sansa.
She really was terrible in this new movie. No depth. No presence. Shallow even. The funny thing is I think she was a better actor before. She actually got worse. Maybe the director had something to do with this because he or she let Sophie get away with this subpar performance. Sad.
This X-Men movie was the worst I've seen. It just didn't work. Sad. For a lot of those actors; this was their last X-Men movie. I doubt another one will be made for at least a decade; maybe longer. I won't mention any spoilers because it just came out but I would not spend any money to see this movie. Wait for it to come out on some tv channel soon.
I will say much of the CGI was well done and many of the other actors did just fine.
Stanislavski warned these method actors against thinking they were the characters they played, said it was psychopathic.
The X men franchise has been running on fumes for a long time. The Dark Phoenix storyline is a great on (original comic) I will see the movie later today.. just to see if they do it justice. They did a horrible job in X-men 3 shoving it in there.
But overall the X-men franchise has been limping along for a LONG time now
I wished the dogs had gotten Sansa
But its a movie about strong women. What teenaged boy wouldnt want to see that during the first weeks of summer?
I’m sick to death of these comic book movies. The only way I’ll see another one is if a pickup truck full of rednecks with a keg of beer show up, and proceed to stomp the asses of Batman, Superman, The X-Men, The Avengers, and every other straggler into puddles of swamp water.
Same here.
Saw the trailers for both movies and they turned me off cold. Won’t be wasting my money on them for sure.
X-Men , yawn , how many times can they remake the same movie
I’m not sure why anyone thought that Sophie Turner is a strong enough actress to carry anything at all. She’s not.
The character of Sansa in the books of GOT was a vapid airhead. A Justin Beiber fangirl basically. Sophie was perfect for that part.
Beyond that, she’s an as$hole.
She said she will not act in Georgia if the abortion bill stays.
I’m sure all the angels in Heaven will cry if Sophie doesn’t act in Georgia...
Your 9.5 is getting bad reviews.
