First Lady Melania Trump Again Dons Dior

After commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day in Portsmouth, England, on Wednesday, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made their way to France for today’s ceremony marking the Normandy landings. Joining French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, the Trumps paid tribute to service members from both countries who battled against Nazi soldiers in World War II. After the commemorative ceremony, including speeches by both of the presidents, and a viewing at the Normandy American Cemetery, there was a military fly-over at Omaha Beach. POTUS was then off to Calvados in France for a working lunch and bilateral meeting with Macron.

Given the pageantry that has been integral to the Trumps’ European trip, it is not surprising that FLOTUS suited up in primarily refined looks in subtle colors. For the second time this week, she chose Dior — in this case a black coat dress worn with Roger Vivier shoes with signature buckles for today’s tribute. FLOTUS is such as fan of Dior’s artistic director for women’s Maria Grazia Chiuri that she also wore custom Dior to Monday’s white-tie dinner at Buckingham Palace.

Wouldn’t you be, too, if you were made to look like a “donkey” standing next to “racehorse” Melania?

Excellent. They are paying for it from their own private funds.

If you want to have some fun ask a liberal if a Christian baker should be forced by law to bake wedding cakes for gays. Then ask them if a fashion designer should be forced by law to design clothing for Mrs. Trump.

That does sound fun.

A liberal would likely say “it’s not the same thing”, but they’d know they’d be lying.

Melania is just so wonderful!

I swell with pride when I see her standing next to our great president :-)

Only Jackie Kennedy came close to such FLOTUS awesomeness.

Looks are not the most important thing for a POTUS/FLOTUS couple to possess, but if all other aspects are great then it really tops it all off nicely :-)

Brigitte Bardot is the finest thing to come out of France since Joan of Arc.

Former film star Brigitte Bardot, France’s iconic blonde bombshell and “sex kitten” who reigned supreme from 1952 – 1973, has been on trial five times for insulting Muslims and “inciting racial hatred.” The prosecutor in her fifth trial, Anne de Fontette, wants a heftier fine and a tougher sentence: the equivalent of $24,000 and a two month (hopefully) suspended jail term. What crimes has Bardot committed in the land without a First Amendment, in the land of Hate Speech laws that are being slickly exploited by non-persecuted Muslims? Bardot has written: “I am fed up with being under the thumb of this population which is destroying us, destroying our country.” Bardot, seventy nine, is an avid animal rights activist and abhors the slaughter of animals for any purpose, including religious ones. But mainly, she laments “the Islamization of France.” In 1997, Bardot was convicted of “inciting racial hatred” by publishing an Open Letter in the French Daily, Le Figaro; she complained of “foreign over-population,” mostly by Muslim families.   In 1998, Bardot was again convicted for “decrying the loss of French identity and tradition due to the ‘multiplication of mosques while our church bells fall silent for want of priests.’” In 2000, Bardot was again convicted for what she wrote in her book Pluto’s Square, which featured a chapter in which she grieved for “my country, my homeland, my land is again invaded by an overpopulation of foreigners, especially Muslims.” In 2004, in another book, A Cry in the Silence, Bardot ran afoul of the political correctniks by “generally associating Islam with the 9/11 terror attacks and denouncing the ‘Islamization of France’ by people she described as ‘invaders.’ She also wrote: “Over the last twenty years, we have given in to a subterranean, dangerous, and uncontrolled infiltration, which not only resists adjusting to our laws and customs but which will, as the years pass, attempt to impose its own.” Bardot has written what the late, great Oriana Fallaci once wrote—for which she, too, was sued in both France and Italy. Bardot has written what the great Jean Raspail once wrote in his 1973 brilliant dystopian novel In the Camp of the Saints. Bardot has written what the prescient and indomitable scholar Bat Ye’or has written in her 2005 book Eurabia. The Euro-Arab Axis and in her 2011 book Europe, Globalization, And the Coming Universal Caliphate. Islam is not a race. Muslims exist in all colors of the rainbow. Islam is a religion—one that has historically refused to separate religion or Sharia law from the state. In the name of Islam, and following Mohammed’s example, Muslims have engaged in imperialism, colonialism, conversion via the sword, gender and religious apartheid, genocide, and slavery. Today, groups such as ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Hamas, Hezbollah—and countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan—are practicing Islam as a form of totalitarian barbarism. Not all Muslims are terrorists—many are anti-Islamists—but many terrorists today are Muslims who claim to be acting in the name of Islam. What is tricky is that non-Caucasian Muslims have experienced racism at the hands of European Caucasians, thus complicating the tragic tangle of racism per se versus the West’s belated response to the problem of radical Islamic supremacism, misogyny, infidel-hatred, and righteously hostile, parallel societies within the West. Just as an increasing number of Muslims in France want to keep their traditions– including child marriage, FGM, face-veiling, polygamy, stoning for adultery and for homosexuality—so too does Bardot wish to keep European Enlightenment traditions (the separation of religion and state, individual rights, the right to speak freely). Correction: the original version of this article claimed Brigitte Bardot’s fifth trial for inciting racial hatred occurred recently. Bardot faced her fifth trial in 2008.
