Today sort by article.
Back in 98 it was sort by activity - ie by posts including responses.
That way you could follow the discussions easier.

I joined in 2001 and html still is not my friend. After joining FR in 2007, I chose to master the most common HTML commands, and I did, thanks to helpful Freepers.
It really wasn't that difficult, and I've never forgotten those few codes.

I’ve always been set for ‘everything’.
There are lots of ways to search for ‘relevant stuff’ - keywords, titles, users, or going to an individual’s profile. (Every now and then I see a response to some post of mine that goes back years, because someone has been searching my history and decides to respond to something very old.)
Also, lots of people bookmark or ping themselves to threads they want to respond to, but don’t have the time when they first see the thread; they go back to it later.
Somehow, I’m sure you know all of this...

I usually scroll until I see something from a posting bot.
Then I'll sometimes say "Bad! Bad posting bot!"
They never listen.

Dreamweaver is an older Adobe product used to make websites before anyone ever heard of blogging. It’s all in HTML , though later updates added CSS.

I looked up what was happening when I joined. It was when impeachment proceedings began against BJ clintoon.
Maybe there was a FR link on Drudge? Not sure exactly how I got here.

I think it all really started on Usenet. ClintonWhiteWater - or something like that.
At least, that’s the way I recall finally arriving here...

As the Dear Departed fellow, MrConfettiMan taught us, we do something to where we can post, as he did, “I was there, Where were you>”
That is the thread he posted when he started the regular Saturday protests outside the Clinton White House and he and Dr Rauol others kept it up until the impreachment vote and later.
THAT”S Freeping.
