If Seeing the World Helps Ruin It, Should We Stay Home?
NY Times ^ | June 3, 2019 | Andy Newman

The glaciers are melting, the coral reefs are dying, Miami Beach is slowly going under. Quick, says a voice in your head, go see them before they disappear! You are evil, says another voice. For you are hastening their destruction. To a lot of people who like to travel, these are morally bewildering times. Something that seemed like pure escape and adventure has become double-edged, harmful, the epitome of selfish consumption. Going someplace far away, we now know, is the biggest single action a private citizen can take to worsen climate change. One seat on a flight from New York to Los Angeles effectively adds months worth of human-generated carbon emissions to the atmosphere.

Huh? Ice is less dense than water, that’s why it floats. That’s also why it takes up more space than water, and sea ice melting won’t contribute to sea level rise. Now if all that’s currently over land melts the sea level will rise... but by how much? The answer probably doesn’t matter because the odds of the leftists’ fantasy/nightmare scenario actually happening are slim to none.

If the Democrats could only be convinced that mass suicide would save the planet, the world would be a better place.

Oh, they like the theory, but their version of the implementation involves "assisting" the Peasants in their suicides.

All liberals should buy a large bottle of CO and breathe deeply to help save the planet.

If these idiots wanted to help they would go over to china and get them to change their ways since 93% of pollution comes out of china.

Human beings are destroying the environment, so you have a moral obligation to kill yourself.

I’m not going to click on the NYT, but there are too many tourists everywhere across the globe. I blame massive cruise ships and the UNESCO designation which means sites end up on every single cruise and land itinerary. Yes, stay home, progtards.
Reminds me of the old saying, “Nobody ever goes there anymore, it’s too busy!”
