The same stupidity occurs with cats in trees.
How many cat skeletons do you see high in trees or on bridges?

Read somewhere recently that the way to get a cat to come home was to pet another cat where it could be seen by the errant one.

Just goes to prove: “You can get a cat to do anything you want it to, provided it feels like it.”!!!

Cat was just waiting for the silly human interlopers to go away so she could go home.

I don’t partiularly like cats, but a live in GF got one and it went up in a huge tree next to my condo. It was making a racket and a crowd gathered. My GF was going crazy.
I was able to get up in the tree off of a 3rd floor balcony and tried to get near the yowling cat. I damn near killed myself when a branch broke, but I was able to catch hold of another branch as i fell.
As I said a prayer for me and a curse for the cat, it got bored and wandered down the tree, leaving me to find a way down.
