Self defense tips and self defense training isn't something to take lightly. Just because you have one tool, doesn't mean you are done. Consider integrating martial arts, security habits, security systems, situational awareness (and awareness in general) and many other great tips to create 3 solid layers of self defense for women and men.
I simply said, 'Paint him orange.' Took them a minute to figure out what I meant.
One of the guides was asked that. Two shots are all youre gonna get, he said. >>>>>>
He’s right if the bear is charging. But why let one get the drop on you? I suppose it happens. But its better to change the bear away of drop it at 100 yards, which is danger close.
A 12 gauge rifled slug is a great persuader.
> I carry Fox Labs 5.3 everywhere I go. <
Last year I wanted to give Fox pepper spray as a gift to some out-of-state female relatives of mine. So I looked it up. Evidently it’s legal in all 50 states, although some states have size and purchase restrictions.
As I said, that was last year. Who knows about now? Maybe NYC has since outlawed anything that could possibly harm a criminal.
Amazon might have some restrictions on things like that. I get mine from Sportsmans Guide. The only restriction they have is it has to ship via UPS, not USPS.
My guess is the gun is a counter offense whereas video cameras, dogs, window bars , outward opening doors, notes and warnings are good defensive measures.

But yes. She is fun to watch.
I know, just thought I’d mess with y’all a little bit. And it’s been fun.
I must say your mentioning getting to watch her is why I did. Yes, very appealing to the eyes.
Regarding situational awareness. For combat vets, it’s built in. It’s automatic at all times. Fine tuned hearing and sense of smell. Always scanning the area for something out of place.
“Most people who train in martial arts learn enough to get themselves hurt ... Been teaching martial arts for over 30 years - - “
Same can be said for those that go out and buy a gun. If they are inexperienced and especially if they are hesitant to use it, it can be taken away and used to kill them.
If someone is coming at you with a weapon and or they obviously have a intent to harm you, you must fire at least 2 warning shots. One to the chest, one to the head.
I pay attention to blue jays - the early warning system of the forest.
Try and convince the game warden that it was a threat to you as he's arresting you and confiscating your firearm and possibly auto for illegally shooting a bear.
I will take on a game warden any day rather than be a skin bag of red meat for a bear.
I am here just for the articles.
For the Articles,
Yup!
I will take on a game warden any day rather than be a skin bag of red meat for a bear.
Shooting a bear at 100 yards and you have no idea what its intentions are, just shoot it?
You are indeed an idiot..and should be prohibited from owning any firearms let alone carrying them.......Sheesh, I've never heard anything so stupid in my life.
We are talking grizzly . And please save your disturbed name callinbg for some other FReeper who would put up with it.
On the tundra or in the open, even 1/4 mile from a hungry grizzly is danger close.
your inexperience is apparent.
yes, if a grizz is 100 yards away, and coming? Drop it.
Great video!!
Thanks for posting :)
I do teach that ... I teach 1.) Not there to look pretty (High fancy kicks) ... the obit will read "He looked pretty but got themselves killed doing it, 2.) NEVER go toe to toe ... you must assume that your opponent has at least as much training as you do ... NEVER underestimate an opponent ... expect the unexpected 3. In a bar/street fight NEVER go to the ground ... while you're trying to get a submission hold your opponents buddies will be hitting you with beer bottles bar stools rocks etc. 4. There is no such thing as a "fair" bar/street fight 5. NEVER fight unless you absolutely have too ... run evade talk your way out of it if you can.
