Too funny watching devotees explain their blind faith.

That may certainly be a consideration but Bluetooth is a huge portion of the headphone base, to coin a phrase.

The longtime story, true or otherwise, was that Apple devices especially phones were so scrunched for space inside that the headphone jack was a casualty.

Could be. Yet somehow the iphone doesn’t require such a plastic bit. Apple Engineers, I suppose.

The the more expensive Apple iPhone has an all glass back and is transparent to radio signals. The iPod touch case is aluminum which is opaque to radio signals so needs a radio window.

Too funny watching devotees explain their blind faith.

I just provided you with a list of factual data with at least one link to an authoritative neutral source and you call that faith? I rest my case that you are the cult member, indistinguishable from a close minded anti-Trump Liberal, as far as Apple is concerned. “Don’t confuse me with facts,” my mind is hermetically sealed!”

I could post formal bench marks on speed, blind comparisons of people comparing identical app quality between platforms, proof of malware numbers on Android and the lack of malware on iOS, the number and ease of updates (and the percentage of users on the latest), compared to the lack of updating of Android devices of even security updates, etc., ad nauseum, but no amount of proof of the technical superiority of Apple devices, will overcome the propaganda and rumors you’ve been fed about useless spec enhancements to various Android phone models you’ll never own. . . Such as what good is a built in Blood Oximeter monitor on the back of an Android phone that has a 20% error rate for accuracy? Android facial recognition that can be spoofed with a photograph? Really? Bolted on data encryption supplied by third party apps requiring passcodes to be kept in libraries outside of encryption? Really?

Ipad now available with usb3 rather than lightning port.

It’s a combination Lightning Port and USB-C port. . . The same as on the new MacBook Pros. It depends on what you plug it into how it behaves.

My reply was a lazy one for sure. I was headed out the door and should have waited to reply. Sorry. Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

Anyhow, I also find benchmarks that show the Android Samsung S9 to be much superior to the iPhone X. What are we to make of these conflicting stats, one set of stats showing the iPhone X technically better and another showing the Samsung S9 is technically better?

On your points that go to application, you are correct if a Blood Oximeter is not accurate on an Android. Is it on an iPhone?

Where I see android excelling against iPhone is on basic functionality. For example, android is near perfect in voice command (calling up apps, dictating and sending emails all with voice). iPhone just does not do these things nearly as good - if at all.

No, there is no purpose for a blood oximeter on a phone. I work in a medical field and I can assure you no medical professional or even itinerant medical purpose can be served by a blood oximeter on a phone. It is a gimmick to add to the spec list.

If at all??? As I said you do not know what you are talking about, not at all. I just told you that Apple devices work fine for voice command and dictation. . . and even from the AppleWatch. . . Yet you claim I don’t do what I and over a billion other people do. My girlfriend uses it in a professional environment for medical work on a daily basis for reports and email. I’ve been using it to write two novels. Apple has had dictation and voice command for almost thirty years. That’s what I meant when you are listening to propaganda pushed by Apple’s competitors.

As for speed? The A12 processor in the Apple iPhones in 2018 were geekbench 4 tested in single core score at 4,701, while the 2019 Snapdragon 855 scored only 3,552, It was a bit better for the Snapdragon’s eight cores against the A12’s six cores, with a score of Snapdragon: 11,196 to Apple’s A11,420, but Apple’s has already been on the market for a year. Apple’s latest A13 is due in September and is apparently due to be on a 5 nanometer scale.

The Apple A12X was even faster than what was tested above and is the equivalent of a desktop processor in a portable device.

I get you

You don't even come close to getting Swordmaker. I suggest you do a little research...

I thought we finished the Apple/Any other system fight 10 years ago? I mean, by now, hasn't everyone pretty much settled on what their choice of OS is?

Thanks, Swordmaker, for keeping us current on the latest Apple happenings.

Sorry for the slow reply. Family vacation. My son has the newest Android, my wife has 2nd newest.

Stats are well and good, but he just lost a half days worth of pictures from our vacation mysteriously, and got the message that the expansion memory card needs to be reformatted. That would wipe out a lot of pictures.

Weird stuff like that keeps happening to her. So, real world I am not ever screwed by tech like she is too often. Updates mess with her phone. We pones never look like the old one. She’s used to it so she won’t change.

Have him turn on the feature that saves stuff to the cloud. I had my phone stolen and had to buy a new one. As soon as I signed into my account, everything (all pics, apps, etc) was back on my phone.

I guess the phone debate becomes like the old Chevy vs Ford debates. Thanks for the reply. All the Best to you.

Yeah, she HAS it set up that way, but in South Germany by the Alps no service or WiFi. Granted, that’s unusual...but vacations pics are like that sometimes!

All the best.
