The Miss India beauty pageant has faced criticism over a lack of diversity in its finalists.
The organisation came under fire after a newspaper published headshots of all 30 women competing to take home the crown.
Twitter user LeBrown James shared a photo of the collage, asking: 'What's wrong with this picture?'
The question sparked dozens of responses from social media users who pointed out that all the women have 'fair skin', with one saying simply: 'This is so white!'

Boy do I love brunettes
Indians aren’t white so therefore they aren’t the devil and can’t be racist. Unlike Americans, their culture needs to be respected.
Only a handful even look Indian racially. I have an Indian friend with dark olive skin, reddish brown hair and pale green eyes, like limeade. She is striking. Where are the ladies of her tribe?
Why is this a problem? Back in the ‘80s I lived in Athens, GA. One year they had a black win the Miss UGA pagent. They also held a Miss Black UGA pagent, also won by a black. I am so sick of black, black black, all you hear. 50 years of it. Get your shit together and stop whining about white people.
Would it be racist of me to say “They all look the same?” Not that I’m complaining....
Diversity is definitely lacking. Every single one of them has brown eyes and brown hair
these are not the women I saw last year in India. I did notice that the northern area women were much more fair skinned as are all the actresses on their TV programs. Would not be surprised to find DNA testing that showed a high percentage of European heritage in a large portion of the northern cities.
I was in the south and was very much the typical darker skinned men and women.
The light complexion Indians trace their ancestry back to the Aryan people who moved into India from the Eurasian steppes.
And what would Le Bron say to similar results in China?? Likely his ignorance would think nothing of it, lacking any knowledge that there ARE “darker” skinned Chinese, that do not match up to the “pure” Han. Yet, people will go on and on thinking “skin” “racism” is 100% about “white privelege” in the U.S.
BTW, Several Miss Universe winners from the Philippines are HALF FILIPINO and HALF CAUCASIAN. Should their participation come under fire as well?
Caste in India is based on color. The conquerors — Brahmins — subdued the inhabitants, who were darker, and the subjugated became servants to the conquerors.
That’s the origin of caste.
There are now something like 2000 gradations...
big deal they stay out of the Sun
Lebron James is a racist, imperialist, bully. India has a different beauty ideal than he does and he thinks the world needs to know that he is enough of an elitist to think his is more important.
LeBrown James?.......................Who he?................
Beauty contests are discriminatory.
So are black athletes with white girlfriends.

RE: darker skinned Chinese, that do not match up to the pure Han.
Han Chinese themselves do not all have the same skin pigmentation. Southern Han Chinese tend to have darker skin compared to the Northern Han Chinese.
In fact, I’ve spoken to a lot of Chinese who still question why they are called the “Yellow” race, when a lot of their women are arguably WHITER than Caucasian women.
But why is this an issue about anything? As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some prefer women with darker complexion, some prefer women with lighter complexion. You can’t argue a preference.
