Impeach Trump? Most 2020 Democrats tiptoe past the question
Associated Press ^ | May 27, 2019 | Elana Schor and Juana Summers

Democratic leaders in Congress have argued that impeaching President Donald Trump is a political mistake as the 2020 election nears.

Most of the candidates running to succeed him seem to agree, for now.

Fewer than one-third of the 23 Democrats vying for the nomination are issuing calls to start the impeachment process, citing evidence in special counsel Robert Mueller’s report they believe shows Trump obstructed justice. Most others, including leading contenders Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, have found a way to hedge or search for middle ground, supporting investigations that could lead to impeachment or saying Trump’s conduct warrants impeachment but stopping short of any call for such a proceeding.

The candidates’ reluctance, even as more congressional Democrats start pushing their leaders in the direction, underscores the risky politics of investigating the president for “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Impeachment matters deeply to the party’s base, but remains unpopular with most Americans. …

In other words, they’re scared ... of alienating the Public and turning Trump into a victim.

There will be no impeachment, but the leftist wailing will continue.

The Democrats and their Agenda are like a House of Cards waiting to come tumbling down when looked at through the lenses of truth, reality and honesty.

Democratic leaders in Congress have argued that impeaching President Donald Trump is a political mistake as the 2020 election nears.

And none of them address the basic issue that there is no case for impeaching Trump. "I don't like him" is not grounds for impeachment - if the Democrats really want to play this game, they should expect that every Democrat president going forward will be impeached by a GOP-controlled House for the crime of not being a Republican.

They should - but we know the GOP is far too gutless for this.

“There will be no impeachment, but the leftist wailing will continue.”

Every candidate is scared of getting the one question that will come up in the debates; “What is President Trump’s crime that you want to impeach him for?” And that is going to also be the question asked at every congressional and senate debate.

The fact Democrats cannot answer this question will be their downfall in 2020.

No; the GOP is on the side of the Democrats. There’s a reason why taking over both major political parties was the fifteenth goal on the list of 45 communist goals for the USA, and it was very well executed.

If we had a GOP full of Trumps, the Democrats would be very fearful. Instead, we have a GOP full of Bidens.

Talk of impeachment is itself a difficult minefield to navigate.

Actual impeachment is in no way a practical course to follow, as it is sure to bring out a LOT of passionate folks on both sides of the question. And inflamed opinions are especially hard to deal with or manage in any way.

...they believe shows Trump obstructed justice.

The believe? That's not the same as having solid evidence or proof of obstruction. Believing is not the same as having the facts to back up your argument.

And, when it comes to why they 'believe' is about pure politics, as evidence by their doubts of going down the road to impeachment because it would be damaging in their elections/re-elections. Would they be doing impeachment if the elections were 3 or 4 years down the road? Likely not. Impeachment rhetoric is ONLY about trying to hang the impeachment rope around Trump's neck during the campaign and debates. Were it not for the impending election, impeachment frenzy would have died long ago.

They are in a box of their own making.

Impeachment without removal would be the worse thing that could happen to the Democrats. They would have both ends of the political spectrum mad at them.

Meanwhile the President is just going along with his agenda.

What would an impeachment process consist of?

It would consist of boring, unlikeable, and notoriously idiotic Democrats like Jerrold Nadler and AOC making speeches trying to prove that one plus one equals four, followed in the evenings by those same Democrats making inane comments on the evening news shows, followed in turn by Donald Trump issuing memorably humorous tweets skewering the Democrats’ inane comments.

Bring it on.

“Impeachment matters deeply to the party’s base...”

I don’t believe that for a second. These are politicians, they say things for effect. To rally their brain dead voters.

Like when Schiff says, “Trump is a Russian agent”. He doesn’t actually believe that crap. But, you’ll have commentators on our side, like Rush and Sean, say “Schiff believes Trump is a Russian agent”.

Saying what you believe to be truth represents no disconnect with sincerity, honor and integrity. But, sincerity, honor and integrity is the complete opposite of what these people represent. Just because words come from their mouth, which we know to be lies, is no reason to accept the talker is truly sincere and actually believes those words to be truth.

Who really knows(?). They may actually jump off the deep end with the impeachment stuff. However, I expect we will be treated to endless narrative scheming for emotion stimulation so the low info crowd will be cranking by the time November 2020 comes around.

Rant off...

The truth of the mater is that most democrats know that impeachment is a losing game, especially for them. Only the looney left like Bernie, Lieawatha and Buttplug, who won’t be running for anything in 2020 are hot for impeachment.

Much as they would like to impeach president Trump, the Dems know that it would backfire on them badly.

Their last resort against Trump is to impeach him, and the worthless bastards can’t do that either.

They don’t do it cause only 10% of natural born citizens watch the Media obsessively and when they do decide to impeach, the other 90% will say WTF is going on here have they gone mad?!

In other words: the Democrats don’t want to reveal, to 90% of the natural born citizens, that they have gone mad.
