Click on Google’s banner and Memorial Day search results are returned.
Someone’s picking the wrong issue to get their panties wound up over.

I never use that search engine. I use duckduckgo.com.

Let it go.
I see it as Google remembering.

See post 6. If you can’t see it, here’s the direct URL: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/47942043883_e7d9b66560_z.jpg
Google turned all their color off and the only color (and therefore emphasis or eye attracting element) on the page is the tri-folded flag and the link for the National Moment Of Remembrance. I think they got it more right than not.

So they chose the Confederate uniform color? Seems odd.

Google is an international company. The rest of the world is not celebrating anything today.
It seems there are a group if you here at FR that cannot wait to be outraged by how they act.
Get over yourselves. Its never going to deliver what you want. Move on.

You should request that this post be taken down. The flag link on the Google page takes you
HEREAnd they are requesting that we "Join us in observing the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 pm, local time"
Seems pretty solid to me.

But below the search box, there is a statement, "Join us in observing the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 pm, local time" with a folded U. S. flag below it.

You must have woken up this morning itching to find something about which to be offended. If this bothers you, I doubt you’ll have a very good day.

Personally, I like it.
I’d have been more offended if they had a background of cookouts, beer, and fireworks.

Not precisely correct. Though the grey evokes little by itself, it links to a fulsome set of Memorial Day information. There is also a descriptive link below the search bar.

I wonder if Google employees get the day off plus holiday pay?
My Google screen is also gray but has a message:
Join us in observing the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 pm, local time.
According to Google, I am supposed to engage in an act of national unity for a duration of one minute.

I went there and it had a link asking folks to join in a national moment of remembrance and it took me to a page that explained what we were remembering......

I think the grey is intended to be symbolic: it says ‘honoring the fallen,’ underneath.
Of course, then it points out the Yankees list to the Royals, which is either a baseball game or an alt history of the revolutionary war
