VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man won more than $1.6 million after playing a penny slot at Valley View Casino & Hotel.
The man, identified as Robert S, was playing the IGT Wheel of Fortune Ultra Wheels penny slot when he hit it big, according to the casino.
Im still in shock. I couldnt sleep for two days. I was up tossing and turning and thought they would call me and say the machine malfunctioned, Robert said.
A photo taken after the big win shows Robert standing next to the machine.
Robert says he plans to invest the money for the future and is excited for his early retirement.
The win comes just weeks before the casino plans to open its $50 million expansion.
You beat me to the point. Nowhere in the article does it mention how many pennies he had to play to get that kind of payoff.
But, the get rich quick folks will flock to the casinos to play the penny slots and some will win a few pennies. The average person going there, however, will fork over $50 or more on the “cheap” slots.
Remember, those casino “palaces” were not build on gamblers’ winnings!
“....he’ll be in bankruptcy court within 18 months.”
It’ll take him that long just to roll them.

1 guy wins, whoopie!
What about the thousands that have lost thousands in those places?

Ace Rothstein: Why didn't you pull the machine? Why didn't you call me?
Don Ward: Well, it happened so quick, I didn't have a chance...
Ace Rothstein: You didn't see the scam? You didn't see what was going on?
Don Ward: Well, there's no way to determine that...
Ace Rothstein: Yes there is! An infallible way, he won!
Don Ward: Well, it's a casino! People gotta win sometimes.
Sorry, but the machine malfunctioned. But to make it up to you, here's a voucher for a free dinner in our restaurant.
Ive given a lot of thought to what strategy I would employ in response to this scenario, should I ever be fortunate enough to win big.
I would say no.
If that didnt achieve the desired result, I would say go away.
You are giving up your “not to be used for identification” SSN on the spot.
Some pissed of person was fined a certain amount and decided he would pay the fine in loose pennies. Judge just said he had to come back with a more easily to process payment method; even a check or debit card.
The FR Thread at that time had a different tone.
