spiked: Why did you decide to identify as a woman to break the womens deadlift record?
Zuby: Around the time I posted the video, there were multiple news stories popping up about transgender athletes technically biological men competing against biological women. They were winning races and competitions in all kinds of sports. Id seen this kind of thing springing up over the years, but in a very short period of time it seemed like there were lots of cases
Out of curiosity, I googled what the British womens powerlifting records actually were and I saw that I could beat all of them. So that video I posted, that wasnt me lifting my maximum the womens record is 215kg and my maximum is 275kg. Its similar for the bench press. And the womens squat record was roughly the same as my own personal best. So I tweeted the video:
I think that adding PS I identified as a woman Don't be a bigot is what made it go viral. I just tweeted it out there. At the time I had about 19,000 followers. I knew it would resonate with my audience. I thought they would find it funny and that would be that. But within 10 minutes the video had over 10,000 views by the time I went to bed, it had over 300,000.
Everything just blew up and I started getting contacted by news organisations across the globe. It was weird on all levels. I tripled my social-media following.
Most people understood the point and found it funny. A very small percentage got upset and angry at me but none could articulate why. I stoked the fire a bit by then breaking the bench-press record and doing multiple reps.

Yes.
(I think some FReepers are given to their own brand of knee-jerk ‘virtue signaling’.)
I would be thrilled for you to be right.
You seem a tad sharper than me so I will go with your analysis :)
Uh, yeah, that's the point!! Now read the article.
That choker really holds down the Adams Apple.
Also, I can bench and squat more than he can.
It was a harbinger of what’s to come.
I’m getting different years for when it was written.
Older song?
Plus somehow word has already spread through the Americans of Italian Descent Committee that I did not know Frank sang this and they are writing up papers to get me kicked out as we speak :(
See what you did :)
Ya know, I remember quoting my grandfather who said “when the men become women and the women become men, the country is finished.”
This had to be in maybe the 20s or 30s and it was just passed down to generations.
When I quoted that on here, someone sent a song talking about such things but it was a VERY OLD song. Maybe the 1920s!!!
I’m sure it wasn’t referring to transgender-ism but it saw something ahead of time!!
So, you're admitting you are a woman? Go claim a new world record!
I think NativeSon was referring to what Zuby can bench and squat...(?)
Ugh. Im from a pretty man, quadruplely so, as a woman.
The Amazing True Story Of Victor, The Wrestling Bear
https://deadspin.com/the-amazing-true-story-of-victor-the-wrestling-bear-1531930655
I knew a guy that wrestled Victor the bear at Mccormick Place Chicago, mid-1970’s.
He said the bear was crazy strong and had the worst bad breath you could imagine.
LOL - OK
In my youth, and it was not a century ago, openly living together without being married was a scandal that pushed you outside the bounds of polite society, marriage was between an a man and women, nobody would suggest otherwise, abortion was illegal, homosexuality was kept completely private, homosexuals did not adopt children, a child conceived out of wedlock was not acceptable, the couple got married before the baby was born, or the baby was placed for adoption to be raised by a heterosexual married couple, or sometimes if the family had the resources a way was found to keep the baby in the family while protecting the baby from scandal.
Most people went to Church (or Synagogue) at least on the Holy Days. Even the most liberal democrats (except for communists) believed in the freedom of speech, and they did not have safe spaces, they did not need coloring books, coco or teddy bears and would have been profoundly offended at being offered such if someone disagreed with them. They were perfectly willing to debate conservatives, and at the end of the day, all parted friends.
I could go on with the changes that have occurred in the last 60 years but I assure you that if you were alive then and old enough to be aware, you would not recognize this country from that country.
In that day, the castration of children was an unimaginable crime, now it is fashionable, the push is on for murdering newborn babies, and I note that cannibalism seems to be on the verge of becoming the newest fad, and so unlike you,
I think the acceptance of pedophilia looms near. After all, if children at the age of 5 or 6 or so are to be allowed to make the decision to change their gender, undergo the surgery, take the hormones, etc., how long do you think it is going to be before the loons running the govt decide that they are capable of giving sexual consent?
You say a century, I say 10 years, probably less. Sickening, isn’t it?
I don’t believe that this insanity will last for 10 years. Other influence(s) will intervene.
We already know about the attempted suicide and suicide rates among ‘transgenders’.
I believe that there are still some honest psychologists and psychiatrists out there.
So how long have you identified as a woman?
This thread is going all kerflooey.
“I think NativeSon was referring to what Zuby can bench and squat...(?)”
Yes, I understood that is what he was saying. What I was trying to say is that, if Zuby can claim he’s a woman and set the world record, then NativeSon can easily take that woman’s record away from Zuby. Ergo, NativeSon would be a woman, too. No?
Maybe my thinking is just too convoluted tonight.
I don’t know. I’m a little too drunk myself, to keep up tonight.
But if NativeSon can do as well or better than Zuby did to expose the lie of this ‘subjective gender identification’, perhaps he should go for it :-)
And I can lift more.
Did you just assume my gender?!
