Two mountaineers have died on Mount Everest after crowds of people became stuck in a queue leading to the summit of the world's highest mountain.
Indian climber Anjali Kulkarni, 55, died on her way back from climbing to the summit of Mount Everest on Wednesday, her son Shantanu Kulkarni told CNN. She had become stuck in the "traffic jam" above camp four, which, at 8,000 meters (26,247 feet), is the final camp before the summit. American mountaineer Donald Lynn Cash, 55, also died Wednesday after fainting from high altitude sickness while descending from the summit, according to the Nepalese expedition company Pioneer Adventure Pvt. Ltd.

I heard there are dead bodies on Everest, that some people die and there’s no provision for bringing down the bodies of the dead off the mountain.
Why do i NOT climb that mountain?
because it is there.
The Cog railway up Mt. Washington is pretty cool though...but pricey.
Driving up Mt. Washington is the extent of my mountain climbing
Thats comparable to the fatality rate for astronauts, which is not insignificant. It also involves an activity that is nothing more than an ego trip. There was really no need for anyone else to climb that mountain after Sir Hillary Clinton reached the summit and didnt find gold, or aliens, or something like that. :-P
If I did not read the article I would think that was photo shopped.
There is still the quick way down.
Stepping up on a bar stool is as high as I go.
Theres a certain number of people and they just always want to try to climb the highest mountain
As a fairly experienced a mountain climber myself I can tell you that really theres plenty of excitement to be had at 10 to 14,000 feet of which the sierra Nevada range here in California and the Rocky Mountains in Colorado have lots and lots of fun mountains to climb that are quite exhilarating
You dont need oxygen and you dont need to cross glaciers you dont need permission thats what I suggest if you want to go climb mountains
Anything above 15,000 feet youre going to start to run into oxygen problems
Climbing crazy Rocky dangerous mountains is dangerous enough without being lightheaded and having headaches
How colorful in their $5,000 of REI clothing and gear. Can’t some more of them fall?
Then when you have snow ice glaciers in crevasses to the max , you have a death wish
“How colorful in their $5,000 of REI clothing and gear. Cant some more of them fall?”
I certainly hope not.
I hate lines - and that one looks like a long one, that you could literally die in.
From that photo - it does not even appear wide enough for people going the opposite direction to squeeze past. How are people at the top supposed to go down?
So what?
They took the risk.
Why is this a tragedy cause they died doing something useless and dangerous.
Isn’t there enough real news to focus on without all the handwringing over suicidal people?
Absolutely ridiculous.
“I heard there are dead bodies on Everest, that some people die and theres no provision for bringing down the bodies of the dead off the mountain.”
correct. and there are numerous pictures on the internet of these gruesome, ancient frozen dead climbers ... i don’t recommend anyone go searching for them ...
I’ve seem shorter lines outside movie theaters showing Infinity War II.
“Anything above 15,000 feet youre going to start to run into oxygen problems”
When I get off a plane in Denver and have a few martinis I run into oxygen problems.
