The man who admitted to kidnapping Jayme Closs and killing her parents will be sentenced Friday.
In March, 21-year-old Jake Patterson entered a guilty plea to two counts of intentional homicide and one count of kidnapping in connection with the fatal shootings of Jim and Denise Closs at their Barron County, Wisconsin, home in October as well as the abduction of Jayme.
Jayme currently lives with relatives, some of whom are expected to speak during the hearing Friday about the impact of losing Jim and Denise Closs.
Patterson faces a sentence of life in prison. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS spoke with an FBI expert whose team worked to develop a profile of a suspect early in the Closs investigation.
Karie Gibson said Patterson presented a challenge that turned into uncertainty for Barron County and for those following Jayme's abduction.
"It's a look at predatory violence; it's not just snapping, they're not just one day (saying), 'Look at this, this is what I am going to do,'" Gibson said. "There's likely a lot of planning that goes into (it) and fantasy as well."

Good grief....all you need is a tad of common sense and history.
What I didn’t know until today was that the shells used in the shotgun murder weapon were all slugs.
2x life no parole plus another 25. All consecutive.
He won’t spend much time. Not alive, anyway.
*SHUDDER*
Hopefully their deaths were mercifully quick.
Are you watching any of the Victim Impact Statements? The employer of Jayme’s parents put up $25K (maybe more?) in reward money to find her.
They were obviously valued employees!
Watched the whole thing.
Life sentence equals, what (?), 2 maybe 3 years with “good behavior”.
2 life sentences without possibility of parole. Consecutive.
Just like jeffrey dahmer
In March, he pleaded guilty to two counts of intentional homicide and one count of kidnapping, and prosecutors dropped an armed burglary charge. A judge sentenced Patterson to two consecutive terms of life in prison on the counts of intentional homicide, and the maximum of 40 years on kidnapping (25 years in prison, 15 years supervised release), also consecutive.
