6:10 p.m. update — The scheduled execution of Bobby Joe Long has been delayed temporarily while the U.S. Supreme Court considers his final appeals.
Long was set to receive a lethal injection at 6 p.m. Thursday at Florida State Prison, but the justices had not yet ruled in his case. Barring a reprieve, the execution would take place later Thursday.

Bobby Joe Long died by lethal injection Thursday.
Bobby Joe Long was sentenced to death after being convicted in the May 1984 death of 22-year-old former beauty contestant Michelle Denise Simms.
The FBI linked Long to the homicides of 10 women over a period of roughly eight months. The victims ranged in age from 18 to 28 years old. Most were strangled or asphyxiated, while one was shot and another had her throat slashed.

They're guaranteed a speedy trial, which he certainly received, but not a speedy sentence.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Long had one five-year sentence, four 99-year sentences, 28 life sentences, and one death sentence
Deserved every bit of the sentence.
I’m a true crime junkie and had seen his story on Forensic Files——a real sicko with a boyish look.
I think ID did his story also,but I’m not sure of that.

I saw the cooks saying on TV once that they LOVED the last meal because the guys almost never ate it and then the cooks would eat it.

Interesting point. And just how that phenomenom was determined to be factual would also be interesting.
Yet the courts/lawyers demand the death of a child in nine months or less; even after birth in some states.
I had to look him up on Murderpedia to see where the body in Pasco was found. It was close to us but not as close as the victim of another serial killer around the same time. I now recall a thread here a few years ago when that scumbag finally got executed.

Guess this scumbag was a distant cousin of another serial killer named Henry Lee Lucas. Who was linked with yet another serial killer and possible killer of Adam Walsh named Ottis Toole.

This is one of my favorite sites and I can get lost there for hours reading about killers. Some of them really make me think “what if” a lot. And I shake my head over the amount of mistakes by the cops and judicial system.
