6:10 p.m. update — The scheduled execution of Bobby Joe Long has been delayed temporarily while the U.S. Supreme Court considers his final appeals.
Long was set to receive a lethal injection at 6 p.m. Thursday at Florida State Prison, but the justices had not yet ruled in his case. Barring a reprieve, the execution would take place later Thursday.

No country can possibly be considered “civilized” that permits a convicted killer of 10 people to be housed and fed and doctored at the taxpayers expense for over 30 years before being executed for his crimes. Absolutely absurd by ANY civilized standard!

In Japan they don’t give you an execution date. When it comes, it comes and that scares the prisoners more than the actual execution itself.
