Today’s Cryptogram

QIX YCHHIN GKCJS KCHFG VONK C YMSHYKSF EOGN. ---OHFOBC DCHFKO

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Looked kinda hopeless at first glance. Rarity of letters in the first word helped.

That and the double letter in the second word. ~5 mins for me this time.

10 min while in a meeting. Single letter has two choices. First word has two likely choices...then go to double letter on 2nd word.

Yeah, and getting that leads to the 4 letter preposition....

This one is a tuffy, unless you spend a little time looking it over before you start.

The single letter gives you some clues, esp like you say the word before it, but the key is getting the first word, which is among the most common.

I had to go away and come back. Getting a fresh look at it helped. 👀

I usually get these so quickly. This one has me pulling my hair out and I have NO idea what I am doing. Tried the single letter and the first word a few different ways and I am stumped. GAH.

Under 2 minutes. Got first two words immediately then the rest came quickly. BTW anyone who loves these word puzzles might also like JEOPARDY. James has won almost 2 million, unbeaten for weeks. Might surpass Ken Jennings. Will be on again today. Plus, Alex Trebec has cancer and may not be with us much longer. Looks great for now. Tune in today! Enjoy

This was one of the toughest we’ve thrown out there to date.

Good job everyone, hanging in there.

Ah yes, Webex. I do those. Best time for a pedicure and some nosehair trimming.
