When the Truth becomes inappropriate, the end of civilization nears. What a tangled web we weave when first we seek to deceive. Consider the mess the World is in. How has that happened? War is the result of dishonest behavior, isn't it? The failure to honestly, openly & effectively communicate with each other results in violent confrontations. Rational objective discussion & debate must rule for there to be peace. At this point, the opposition to the Trump leadership has offered no rational argument with a complicent contolled media propping their idiotic nonsense. It is a sad moment in the history of man. At a time when most could live in luxury, we are arguing among ourselves like children about the size of our portions when in fact it should be all we can carry. Who has not read & understood the message in books like 'Lord of the Flies'? Those who promote fraud & destructive behavior must be identified & brought to justice in public to set the standards. Now we have highest powers committing heinous acts with impunity. These traitors to common decency & mutual respect tear at the fabric & soul of a peaceful & prosperous society. I am here, like the boy with his finger in the hole of the dam, to bring attention to the dangers of ignorance & encouraging others to get informed & take appropriate action in their skills & position. Throughout the history of man, war has been to take something that someone else has that the belligerent wants. It is only relatively recently that mankind has engaged in warfare that is the result of failed politics or punitive measures for some perceived infraction, and then, only in the westernized world. The "3rd World" still engages in conflict over the coveting of things.
What about WHEN TRUTH BECOMES A CRIMINAL OFFENSE?????
I was going to mention this in the millenials thread and didn’t but it’s just as appropriate here.
The unintended consequence of suppressing opinions and viewpoints from young people is that someday they experience a kind of awakening, when they discover a whole new world of suppressed information and it begins to dawn on them that the revelations might actually be closer to the truth than what they’ve been fed all their lives. It’s a powerful catharsis.
A kind of rebellion occurs and sometimes the rejection goes too far and they end up down a fringe rabbit hole, but for the most part, they newly converted are much more enthusiastic about the truth than the old guard, but for the most part you get a slow conscription to reality.
Millennials are confusing to older generations, but in my experience they are actually quite straight forward. They’re more libertarian for the comfort of social conservatives, but except for the activist types that got fully recruited, they are not socialist robots. They’ve just been convinced by the media that our current socialism isn’t enough and they face some kind of vague existential threat because of it.
They are fully capable of being reached, with the right message. Levin’s book is timely, and I haven’t read it but I suspect it goes toward the point of this topic here. We need to expose (in general, with a strong case) how the media controls the truth. We tend to get mired in the varied specific that come up without truly exposing all that’s been done to people.
Both these groups hate the truth because it competes with their narrative.
Unfortunately for them, truth, like reality, ALWAYS bats last.
Any civilization built on UNTRUTH is always knocking at death's door.
Fortunately for humans, the world is a free market for civilizations.
As an aside, it is funny how Judeo/Christian civilization has been around since the days of Noah (and before) and is still thriving.
It's a tough task, but we are working on it. If nothing else it will be a measure of how rotten the republic has become. Good post. Welcome aboard.
As long as there are still defiant and unapologetic people who refuse to characterize lies as truth, toe the PC line, speak their mind, and refuse to praise the emperor with no clothes, civilization won’t end.

Democrats no longer accept the outcomes of elections they don't win. The alternative to peaceful elections is, well, an uncivilized mess.
The Democrats don't want a peaceful and prosperous society. They just want power and control over people.

We live in a sea of lies, dishonesty and deceit. Seriously, think about it as you go through the day. We are constantly bombarded with false and deceptive advertising, politicians lie and dissemble to us with ease, the media distorts stories to advance political agendas, and we are fed an endless stream of BS from our state, local and federal governments. Its all around us 24X7. Our society is now built on lies.
When truth means denying yourself the
luxury of an occasional unexpressed thought,
