Nearly three decades ago, when Democratic Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards’ wife was 20 weeks pregnant with their first child, a doctor discovered their daughter had spina bifida and encouraged an abortion. The Edwardses refused.
Now, daughter Samantha is married and working as a school counselor, and Edwards finds himself an outlier in polarized abortion politics.
“My position hasn’t changed. In eight years in the Legislature, I was a pro-life legislator,” he said. When he ran for governor, his view was the same. “I’m as consistent as I can be on that point.”
Edwards, who has repeatedly bucked national party leaders on abortion rights, is about to do it again. He’s ready to sign legislation that would ban the procedure as early as six weeks of pregnancy, before many women know they are pregnant, when the bill reaches his desk. …

WE will need to wait for SCOTUS to accept abortion case next term.
Pray they do not let the lower court decision to stand w/o taking the cases.

Kavanaugh is philosophically bent to keeping the Constitution as it was intended to be written.
You’re not necessarily going to get a pro-life position from somebody like that. However, better him than who the Democrats would have wanted. There’s a half-chance that Kavanaugh will cast a vote to cast down Roe vs Wade, but there would have been no chance that if the Democrats had successfully pushed out Kavanaugh.

Seems if you’re against abortion you’re against freaks being created on an operating table for “sex changes” and gays getting a special law passed that they don’t need to protect themselves, and hell, a long list of other things the dems stand for.
Rather than a sweeping turndown of Roe vs Wade, Kavanaugh is expected to frame a ruling around the 10th Amendment.
I’m fine with that as it allows the fruits of Judeo-Christian morality to once again be cultivated on American soil.
The man ethicacy of a liberal is personal self-fulfillment.
Everything they believe in involves self-fulfillment and having others enable you to be self-fulfilled.
Yeah it doesn’t make sense him being a dem.
I am Thankful that he is signing the bill.
Maybe it’s the flip side of NYC.
Giuliani had to run for NYC mayor as an R with some of his agenda anathema to conservatives in order to win.
And I am THRILLED that he won.
If this guy had to run as a D to win, then I am thankful that he won and is pro life.
