When a Florida man tried to evade law enforcement, the car he chose for his getaway was classic.
Oswald Pereira, who allegedly set fire to his wifes home in Marion County, hopped in a Dodge Charger that was painted to look like the General Lee from the old "Dukes of Hazzard'' television show, WKMG reported.
Alas, Pereira was caught and faces charges of arson, fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, resisting without violence and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, WKMG reported.
And Pereira was admitted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville with burns over about 15 percent of his body, the TV report said.

He should have used those dynamite enhanced arrows the Duke Boys had to stay true to the show.

If you’ve got a General Lee car, how could you NOT try to elude law enforcement officers?

Looks more like a black Confederate. We were at the Farragut Museum near Knoxville, Tennessee a few years ago and they had an interesting exhibit for Black History month.
More that 250,000 black soldiers fought for the Confederacy. Most of them were in noncombat roles such as cooks or teamsters, but some states, especially Tennessee and North Carolina, posted them in combat roles as well. This was particularly true in the Appalachian areas where many were freeman who owned small subsistence farms or practiced trades which served the farms.

A British show called 5th gear or something, not TG, did a comparison of the GL and striped tomato.
Both lousy handling and slow.
