Chick-fil-A is starting to 'imagine' vegan menu
FoxNews.com ^ | May 13, 2019 | Michael Hollan | Fox News

Posted on 05/13/2019 4:51:25 PM PDT by ETL

Amanda Norris, the executive director of Chik-fil-A’s menu, told Business Insider that “a vegetarian option or a vegan option is something we're looking at, we're thinking about, and have some research and development."

According to the report, Chick-fil-A has been researching vegan menu items for a few years at this point.

"We've kind of been watching it, and now we are moving more from the watch stage and getting into that understand, or really imagine stage,” Norris said.

There are reportedly five stages all new menu items and initiatives must go through before launch at Chick-fil-A:
Understand, imagine, prototype, validate and finally, launch.

While it sounds like Chick-fil-A is still in the early planning stages of going vegan, it’s not a surprising move.

Other fast-food chains have started rolling out meat alternatives, like Burger King’s Impossible Whopper. McDonald’s is also reportedly researching adding more plant-based menu items.

Ultimately, for Chick-fil-A, it comes down to demand.

“I think it goes back to how far will our customers want us to go,” said Norris.

“We think it is certainly beyond just no meat on salads or no meat in a wrap.

It might be some kind of alternative protein on a sandwich,” she continued.

“It’s capitalism. Not sure why you hate it, but it’s been around 200+ years.”

We love good chicken more. No vegan Chick-fil-a

Hear! Hear! on the coleslaw.

Chik-Fil-A is a wonderful organization, but we’re not that fond of their chicken, especially the breaded variety. But the slaw was good which made the occasional visit worthwhile. Haven’t eaten there since they removed it.

Here we go again. Huge lines, massive buycotts, and huge market gains. But, we must ignore this and do the PC thing...and turn against this market.

Nope, none of those profits mean anything. Fried chicken in peanut fat is not what people want. Must be some vegetable they want.

My mother loved the carrot salad.

And I’m further ticked that they completely changed all the regular lettuce salads the other year. Why change everything? One thing I understand, but total rehash?

just be their original selves and they will continue to do well. start trying to add all the laatest gimmicks and they will start getting off track - too diversified and start getting sloppy with quality etc.

I love their chicken and will continue to order it. The vegan can be sold to those who don’t eat meat. As long as they keep selling the chicken, I’m cool.

I wonder if they could make their vegetarian menu option something that would make leftists cringe?

Vegetarianism was widespread in the early Christian Church, among both the clergy and laity. Some religious orders of various Christian Churches practice strict Christian vegetarianism.

Basically, Chick-fil-A could make Christian oriented vegetarian meals. Lots of times around the calendar when they could use special packaging, stripping away the secular attachments of holidays.

Of course, since they are typically not open on Sunday, except for very rare charitable events, they would offer these meals in the run up to the holiday, hoping to draw in a lot of family meals.

Here’s what’s so asinine about the concept:

A real vegan would never walk into a facility which processes animal meat.

Real boneheaded SJW move...

Yes, it would be like a gay guy going to a (female) strip club.

If they start hanging out at Chick-fil-A, they will be breaking a lot of other liberal hearts by being scabs of the anti-Christian boycott...

Those young people in that post (#3), I think, look halfway normal. At least when compared to many other "hipster"-type millennials I see on a daily basis around here in New York City. Such sickening pukes many of them they are.

My Jewish girlfriend at college introduced me to the concept of the “Jewish Dilemma”: Free Ham. Was as funny then as it is now.

I propose we call this the “Leftist Dilemma”: Vegan Chick-fil-A.

Our local Chick-fil-A is too crowded so nobody goes there anymore.

I’ve thought that if gays are so upset and offended by Chick-fil-a’s policies, some rich gay entrepreneur should open up his own such food chain and call it “Chuck”-fil-a’s.

Yep - those who want to slam Chick-fil-A for this must never go on a diet or decide to do more veggies for a period...I note that it says they are researching it which means they are making solid business decisions instead of just doing the jump like liberals would do....and ruin their businesses by going political instead of business with their decisions.

I don’t mind them serving vegans, but I don’t know how they prepare or properly cook them.

Agree. My husband is off meat (per doctors order) and having a hearty non-meat option would open CFA to us as a potential fast food stop. Right now, it’s mostly Panda Express.

I am so happy that your husband will have more options. I’m not sure why some have issues with Restaurants expanding options. Seems odd to me. Lol.

Imagine there’s no chicken
No fricasseed or fried
No spicy extra crispy
In nuggets or pot-pied

Imagine all the choices
Made of tofu and chick pea
...aaah...hee...hee...eee...eee...eees

I’m just sitting here watching
Rotisseries go round and round
I really love to watch them go...
