Amanda Norris, the executive director of Chik-fil-As menu, told Business Insider that a vegetarian option or a vegan option is something we're looking at, we're thinking about, and have some research and development."
According to the report, Chick-fil-A has been researching vegan menu items for a few years at this point.
"We've kind of been watching it, and now we are moving more from the watch stage and getting into that understand, or really imagine stage, Norris said.
There are reportedly five stages all new menu items and initiatives must go through before launch at Chick-fil-A:
Understand, imagine, prototype, validate and finally, launch.
While it sounds like Chick-fil-A is still in the early planning stages of going vegan, its not a surprising move.
Other fast-food chains have started rolling out meat alternatives, like Burger Kings Impossible Whopper. McDonalds is also reportedly researching adding more plant-based menu items.
Ultimately, for Chick-fil-A, it comes down to demand.
I think it goes back to how far will our customers want us to go, said Norris.
We think it is certainly beyond just no meat on salads or no meat in a wrap.
It might be some kind of alternative protein on a sandwich, she continued.

Are we still supposed to boycott Chick Fil A over the homosexual marriage issue? As Rahm Emmanuel said, chick Fil A doesn’t represent Chicago values.
And now Hollywood idiots tell us to boycott Georgia over the fetal heartbeat law. Do we still boycott North Carolina over the transsexuals bathroom bill there? I am losing track of all the places you are supposed to boycott to be a good liberal.
Great, but the cant bring back the Coleslaw.
Beans, brown rice, and a salad.
I’d order that.
I’m not eating fake meat.
And, bring back the coleslaw.
That kale salad thing is a ripoff and it’s not any good.
Great, but they cant bring back the Coleslaw.
Nor, the carrot and raisin salad....
Yeah. I miss the coleslaw. And, it was vegetarian.
Why do you say that?
Any smart restaurant would be open to new menu items to expand their appeal.
The image of Chick-Fil-A won’t change because they offer Gardein menu items.
They had better imagine lower sales and closing restaurants then.
Vegans will not eat at a place that sells animal products of any kind. They will not tolerate the business doing that and they will file false lawsuits of contamination of meat or juices in my meal, bs.
Chicken is vegan enough already.
So let me get this straight.
VEGAN: NO
VAGIN: YES
???????8
Its capitalism. Not sure why you hate it, but its been around 200+ years.
Funny pics, although I have to say that much of my diet is real poultry (like the Arbys Market Fresh turkey sandwich I just finished), but I will try the vegan alternatives, and my pant leg is a construction worker cut, certainly not skinnied up.
Actually, sauteed zucchini spaghetti noodles are pretty good when you hit them with a good marinara sauce and grated Parmesan. Just sayin’.
Exactly. EVERYONE loved the cole slaw and there was NO reason to discontinue it.
And they will begin their travel into irrelevance. They already have one strike bu getting rid of the cole slaw and putting in a dirt tasting kale salad in its place to please women who have no business being at chick filet in the first place.
