Then she ran straight into a cow. Goodness knows I tried to warn her.

A black muslim came to speak at the school where I was teaching—pretty much 100% black elementary school in Fresno. This would have been about 1970. Anyway he was telling the kids that English was a ‘slave’ language of the ‘white devils’ and that they should start speaking Arabic and Spanish instead.
