To make such a choice, I can imagine a version of the scene from Portlandia, with a waiter having a file folder describing the detailed health history of a hog that was rendered into bacon. "Our pork products today are uncured and came from a sow named Mildred. She was in good physical health when she was made into bacon, hams, sliced lunch meat and sausage, but she had undergone counseling for depression."
