I recall double dating with a woman friend of ours, who wanted us to meet her new boyfriend. He was one of those obnoxious people who are hard on the hired help. He wasn’t her boyfriend for very long, and I think I know why.

It helped to have devoted some of my misspent youth to that profession, I suppose.

I read a touching report about Harry’s coming to grips with his Mother’s death and the aftermath. I liked Harry more after reading how he came to be self-aware of how the deep tragedy affected his behavior and views. He seemed more real and trustworthy after reading his story.
But I cannot understand how he came to choose this woman. All I can think is that he is wiser for behavioral disorders and sensitive to victims of tragedy but his wisdom falls short.
Did this woman play some sort of victim to his sensitivities?
