I was talking to a younger person (late 20’s?) at church who was under the impression that a measles outbreak is like the return of the plague. She was flabbergasted when I told her that if one of my siblings caught measles or chicken pox my mother put us all in the room together so we’d all get it and get it over with.

Anyone who is not adequately immunized against measles can contract the diseaseWonder what constitutes "adequately" here.....I gained adequate immunity when I had the measles as a child....funny how science has moved the bar where a disease that is more severe in adulthood has become an adulthood threat.
