What were two judges doing at a White Castle in a sketchy Indy neighborhood at 3:20AM?

They are in town for Spring Judicial College which started Wednesday morning. If they're messing around at 3 AM on Weds, I guess they didn't expect to attend the opening remarks at their conference.

Judge Carmichael has been assured that there is no reason to believe the
judicial officers were targeted because of their positions with the
Judicial Branch. This appears to be a random act of violence.
It is important for detectives to investigate the situation; therefore,
Carmichael will not be making any statements regarding the particulars
of the event, the news release stated.
However, Carmichael has spoken with fellow judges who were with Adams
and Jacobs and she has been advised certain reports circulating about the
event are inaccurate. She urges caution until police provide details
and/or make an arrest. Judge Carmichael appreciates the outpouring of
support and love from the members of the Clark County community.

Back in the 70’s, I had a similar case, early morning shoot out at a White Castle in Queens NY. Point blank 5 times with a 45, in the front seat of the car and the victim lived. Never cared for those burgers, they gave me heart burn.

THEY started arguing in the parking lot of The Red Garter( strip club) and it escalated to shooting each other at the White Castle.
Seems they let a stripper get between them...
