Stop Telling Me How Good the Story Is: 'Game of Thrones' Is Porn and You Like It
PJ Media ^ | May 1, 2019 | Megan Fox

Alright, that’s it! I can’t take it anymore. The Game of Thrones hype has gone too far when the Red Cross is camping out in local churches and offering commemorative posters to its congregants for donating blood. Seriously? Come on, people. Game of Thrones isn’t even thinly veiled porn, it’s just porn. Full stop.

Stop telling me how good the story is; you sound dumber than those guys who claim to read Playboy for the articles. Just admit what everyone knows: Game of Thrones is porn and you like it. I have no idea how anyone watches this show with their significant other without complete and total embarrassment. I tried watching the first season and called it quits during a midget orgy.

read Playboy for the articles, I haven’t heard that one in a long time.

As I recall from the distant past, Playboy and Hefner had been sued over alleged pornographic images, and courts ruled that Playboy and similar magazines, were not officially pornographic, if they had other content of redeeming social value.

Hef allegedly thought his magazine was not in any way pornographic, because they originally didn’t show “full frontal” if you get my meaning.

Nowadays that full frontal ban is history, and pornography has gone far beyond just nude pictorials.

Hef supposedly said Playboy was a lifestyle magazine. He resisted any charges that he was a smut peddler.

Of course it's pornographic.
It takes a famous and fairly accurate novelization of the fourteenth century French monarchy and grafts on fantasy elements.

Since the behavior of fourteenth century French royalty was crude, violent, and promiscuous you can't avoid having even the most dry historical texts coming off as pornographic.

I started to read the first of the actual historical novels (Maurice Druon’s The Iron King) but abandoned it because of the sexual violence.

I don't have a television, so I have never watched any of the show.

What about the violence? I quit three minutes in because of that. Never watched another show.

The incestuous relationship between Cersei and Jaime almost comes across as normal in the storyline.

We see the relationship through their eyes, and, to them, it is normal and acceptable. It also helped to destroy their family and their future.

GoT uses unreliable narrators routinely. That's why we hear from one group of people what a horrible, murderous rapist Rhaegar Targaryen is and what a wonderful guy he is from another. The information the reader gets changes depending on what information those narrators have/give.

Considering some of the lines they’ve given Peter Dinklage throughout the series, you’re right!

The Netflix “The Borgias” was great!

Ended too soon, it needed to last long enough for Cesare to get his comeuppance! It didn’t!

I don’t think it had the audience. I guess not enough Ice Zombies or dragons

Same with Marco Polo!

Now as far as history goes they were ok but TV writers (Hollyweird) all think they’re better then history! To me history is the greatest drama nothing else comes close!

History Channel’s Viking’s have the same problem Hollyweird trying to improve history!

Martin borrows from Anglo-Saxon lore just like JRR Tolkein - not anywhere near as good as Tolkein. Martin’s “Red Wedding” if I remember this right was inspired by something the Plantagenet’s did. Now there was a bloody & horny bunch!

There hasn’t been that much sex shown and the sex and violence shown is part of the point....this is based on medieval Europe before the Enlightenment and before any notions of the value of each individual human life. Life was cheap and often nasty and far from any notions of fairness or chivalry, horrible things often happened to innocent people.

It’s the very opposite of “Ivanhoe” or any other such romantic fantasies about what the world used to be like. Evil triumphs plenty of times. It’s about how well you play the “game” to obtain and hold onto power - not how good you are.

Don’t be stupid. Take charge of your own life and leave others to theirs.

The first heaven, biblically, is the atmosphere and space of our solar system. Just consider how polluted the first heaven is with the electromagnetic filth we humans have created and are broadcasting! If Jesus is coming to snatch us away into the first heaven, I wonder how the voice of the archangel will clean up that sewer up there?

First two seasons were ok, the third season got even more bogged down in multitudes of characters and I lost interest. About the same as the books come to think of it.

I have girlfriends that are 100% ENTHRALLED with the ‘Outlander’ series, which is soft core porn, through and through.

They have viewing parties and cook all sorts of Scottish meals. For some reason they won’t let me contribute Haggis. *SNORT*

The books were OK; I can’t stomach the series.

I binge watched Rome. Fast forwarded thru the porny bits. It was just too gratuitous and really added nothing to the story. Except boobs. Okay, i might’ve slowed it back down for the boobs, but that’s it!

My 16 year old niece could come up with something far more imaginitive than GoT. I struggled through 4 seasons and finally said enough is enough.

Hmmm... isn't the term "midget" politically incorrect?

And who is Megan Fox? Is she a good witch or a bad witch?

I am currently on the fifth book of series!(The Iron King).

What sexual violence? Castration? Do mean sex outside of marriage or unfaithful spouses?

I was watching a show, “Bastard executioner” I think. Very little nudity if any and none that I can remember but it was sexually suggestive.

Scene: The castle Senechal is knocking on the Chamberlains door in the early morning.

Door opens, suggestively dressed woman comes out, followed by a suggestively dressed dwarf woman, followed by yet another woman carrying out a cage of mice.

When all settled down and the Senchal enters the Chamberlains quarters to talk. He glances at the Chamberlain who only looks at him and say’s “You have to use your imagination”.
