Must be nice to have the money to fight the Federal Legal Juggernaut...
Robert Blake (actor)
In 2005, Blake was tried and acquitted of the 2001 murder of his second wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley.[3][4] On November 18, 2005, he was found liable in a California civil court for her wrongful death.[5]
On April 26, 2008, an appeals court upheld the civil case verdict, but cut Blake’s penalty assessment in half, to $15 million. Blake’s attorneys had protested that jurors improperly discussed the Michael Jackson and O. J. Simpson verdicts during deliberations of his case, but the appeals judge ruled that such discussions were not improper.[33][34]

She has been scrubbed from Hallmark like an unperson. My wife loved the Garage Sale Mysteries. Aside from the show When Calls the Heart, she was not on the regular Hallmark channel much any more. She was primarily on the Hallmark Mysteries channel in recent years.
Are you sure about that? Everything took place in California.
The US "justice" system is a vicious Kafkaesque nightmare.
You'd think Aunt Becky was a serial killer - instead of someone accused of the heinous crimes of "defying prosecutors" and "refusing to kneel to the American Inquisition".
The witch will burn...
instead of someone accused of the heinous crimes of “defying prosecutors”
Theyre accused of multiple counts of tax, mail, and wire fraud. Demanding a jury trial is right. Actually doing so is beyond ordinary stupid.
L
I understand. These charges are much more serious than keeping the entire US State Department classified data system on your private bathroom server.
How many decades in "prisum" did Felonia and her crew get, again? ;-)
All I'm saying is that the system is Kafkaesque.
Once The Eye of Federal Prosecution Mordor is upon you, the stacks of charges they can bring is beyond ridiculous.
Well, unless you've got a lifetime Get Out Of Prosecution Free card.
BTW - I can see Loughlin & her husband spending a year or two in a Club Fed - but they're no threat to society.
The Federal prosecutors are an actual threat to society...
If she is willing to scorched earth and threaten to expose all of the corruption that runs from top to bottom throughout the NCAA, they may just prevail upon the Feds to drop the charges.
Yesterday there was a story on FR about a rapist who was sentenced to 10 years.... of unsupervised probation.
Hey, it’s Hollywood. That is my point.
Wire fraud is much moar serious.
Federal law prosecutions are descending to the credibility level of #FakeNews.
Behold the Bundy prosecutions in Nevada and Oregon. #FakeLaw.
Actually everything took place on both coasts. The original sting was set-up to ensnare the Yale soccer coach. The FBI Boston field office conducted the sting in a hotel room in Boston. The Yale soccer coach (who was working as rogue from the original team) then flipped and ensnared Rick Singer. Singer then flipped and worked for the FBI for a year trapping the 50 clients along with coaches and administrators. UsC, Yale, Stanford, Georgetown, UPenn among many others were involved. All the indictments were filed in Boston Federal Court House. The trials will take place in Boston.
Trump supporter Kristy Swanson is now the undisputed queen of the Hallmark movies.
Actually everything took place on both coasts.
I didnt mean everything in the scandal. The admissions consultant ran the operation out of Newport Beach and Loughlins kids went to USC.
There are 50 people charged from all over the country the consultant is and Loughlin are just 2. The Boston DOJ and FBI are the ones handling the case and indictments. So far all the court proceedings have taken place in Boston. In the future who knows but Loughlin’s next court date is in Boston.
Not to mention greedy lawyers who benefit from a trial. Martha Stewart did her time and is as big as ever. The other actress and unknowns made the smart move - cut a deal and get probation. BTW, where are the charges against the faculty personnel who accepted the bribes or false documents?
I agree about Marcia Clark being inept, but still believe it was all about the gloves. 1. They were soaked in blood and liquid makes leather shrink. 2. He was wearing surgical gloves which are known for their external gripping ability. 3. He stretched his hand out as he tried them on.
"If they don't fit, you must acquit".
And yes, his well-loved celebrity status was a factor. The court locale and jury certainly didn't help. Notice the different outcome in the civil suit.
Not a whole lot of difference.
We folks and folks like us were the peasants in both situations.
It didn’t end too well for Marie.
