I promise, I won't give away any details or main plot twists. My take on the movie? Meh.
As a wrapup, it definitely did the job, tying up---for good or bad---virtually all of the character lines.
As an action pic it was ok. There was as much if not more humor in this than others. Something about it just didn't work for me.
Again---and this is predictable so I'm not giving anything away---at the end of "Infinity Wars," the "SNAP" caused 1/2 of the universe to disappear. The film begins years later as the Avengers, like everyone else, is trying to cope with the loss of loved ones.
Part 1 is the Avengers getting the will and the plan to combat the "SNAP."
Part 2 is them achieving the means.
Part 3 is the expected battle.
Josh Brolin stole "Infinity Wars" by being somewhat altruistic. Like any good totalitarian dictator, he can fix all problems if he has infinite power. His sadness and (apparently genuine) despondency over the burden of doing this came through and drove the character. That largely disappears in "Endgame," where he becomes what all dictators are, impetuous, unchecked, lacking any moral compass save his own.
One good device the plot uses is to divide up the very large heroic cast into several smaller teams, which is always good to watch different heroes interact with each other. The addition of "Captain Marvel" is handled well.
Just one note on the final battle: It's as if Thanos all of a sudden forgets he has the stones (literally) especially space and time and power. He's like Muhammad Ali drawn into the middle of the ring to trade punches with George Foreman. Ain't a winning strategy.
Despite the attempts to make Robert Downy, Jr. the star, Chris Hemsworth again emerges as the most likeable character. Not nearly as much of the "Guardians" as I'd like.
I will spoil this one minor scene because it shows the current makeup of Hollywood: during the first act when all are depressed, repressed, suppressed, oppressed, sittin' on the Group W. bench (as Arlo Guthrie used to sing), Tony Stark is leading a therapy group. One guy says, "I wasn't able to date for 2 years. I finally went on a date." Stark: "What did you talk about?" Him: "Well, we talked about the disappearances, then HE started to cry, then . . . ." Sigh.
So the insertion of homosexuality into a scene were it was absolutely not necessary whatsoever is just one more reminder that Hollywood's homosecual community can inject gay-ism into a rock.
Why would an evil villain want to destroy half the universe?

Agree on all, ESPECIALLY #5 with (gulp) Pepper Potts? Please.
The Marvel characters aren't sixties Superman light, but they have their moments. Disney was also the first one to figure out how to translate the comic book costumes to the screen without making them look goofy.
One last thing Marvel did was figure out the movie needed a plot and actual characters. Ant Man was a heist film. Winter Soldier was like an old Mission Impossible.
BTW, side note: Stan Lee said he had a scientific explanation for everything in every character's costume, except for the Hulk's pants.

They don’t need women. They have their action adventure movies with hot chicks, video games and pr0n. This movie meets the first one, somewhat (as far as I know).
Which is the worst of all the issues with this: switching Captain Marvel’s gender (DC had Superman, so Captain Marvel was Marvel’s Pepsi offering) is just more appropriation, only this time gender-based.
LOL, how limited. That’s maybe for Millenial guys, but not so much for older guys. They’re doing things in life that they enjoy — traveling, woodworking, golfing, house-flipping, reading, hunting, helping in a fraternal organization, fishing, flying, hobbies, biking, hiking, writing...whatever...so much to do. And highly out of view of women. (The sexual aspect is purposely minimized and only filled if direly needed. “Men need women like birds need anchors.”)

I think of MGTOW as strictly a young guy thing, like “hipsters”.
Us older guys I see as a broader spectrum and something that has been going on a long time. There are guys that are single, adult, and loving it, and there are MGTOWS.
I see MGTOW as the male equivalent of Feminist. The interesting part is that Feminists are angry. MGTOW’s are laughing about it. The problem for feminists is that it IS a man’s world and it pisses them off.
That was Captain America leading the group, not Stark.
And the scene with the homosexual lasted, what, 30 seconds in a three-hour movie?
I just was like, ok, fine, thanks for the mini Gay-BLT cameo, now get back to the movie...
Because, as the saying goes, “Different strokes for different folks.”
I love sci-fi and comic book action movies. But that’s just me. Why should I speak approvingly or disapprovingly of anyone else’s tastes?
I don’t understand the predilection here on Free Republic to hate these movies as much as you don’t understand why they’re so popular at large.
For example, I never got into Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, or 24, but these shows are/were quite popular here. I never once wondered why others liked them—I didn’t.
But that was me.

Correct. The point is, and was, that virtually no movie is safe from homosexual propagandizing, no matter how unrelated to the plot.

Red Pills are guys woke to womens’ head games and still willing to play along with them, but knowingly and with self-preservation rules.
MGTOW are men who’ve had enough of womens’ games and deceits to last their lifetime, and they’re outa there.

BTW, I agree with your rundown. I’m a Red Pill guy. And I’m married to the perfect woman for a real man. If I want to get in touch with my feminine side, I reach for her. When she wants to get in touch with her masculine side, she reaches for me. It works best when we both understand and embrace the roles for which we were each designed by our Creator.

One reason radical feminists are so biter is that they aborted their kids for their career,and unlike men, they quickly get too old to catch a guy, or get pregnant.

I watched Iron Man and Super Man a few years ago and they were so lame I kind of wrote off the genre. The Star Wars debacle reinforced it.
But maybe these Marvel movies are worth taking a look at.
