I know many FReepers don't give a rat's hindquarters about anything put out by Hollyweird these days, but there's no arguing that Marvel/Disney did something significant with this film.

I was one of those who saw it on opening day (along with Mrs. Hoagy62). It was the first time I'd ever been in a sold-out theater. I expected a rowdy crowd, but the people were quiet, and during the film they were utterly silent, hanging on every word, except for laughing at the jokes and sight gags, and the occasional gasp of shock or surprise.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and worthy of ALL the hype generated over the last couple of months. I doubt there will ever be a film that equals the monetary intake this film generated.

Don’t spoli the ending for people who havent seen it yet.

CaptainAmerica comes out as gay.

Amazing box office performance. More than $100 million ahead of Infinity War and Force Awakens North American openings.

I saw it last night with my sons. We loved it. A three hour movie that went by too quickly. The ending was very satisfying. Captain America did not come out gay. In fact, now that it was mentioned, I don’t think there is one gay character in the whole movie.

None of that money was mine.

Thought it was ironic that the real Captain Marvel (or “Shazam”) beat “Captain Marvel” (Ms. Marvel) at the box office anyhow.

Saw it this morning. It was fun. Brought back some memories as a kid. I am not sure if I would give it a 9 of 10. At one point after a Capt “speech” my wife leaned over and said, “Now watch him go off on a rant about his politics.” She kind of killed the moment.

Worth the read for those who care about their kids. Let’s just say that God is not giving this one a thumbs up.

When Hollywood puts out entertainment rather than propaganda - we’ll all show up to cheer... Thanks to both of you (Mrs. Hoagy62 too) for sharing your ‘two thumbs up’ review!

I haven't seen any of the Avenger films so I have no interest in this one either, but all of my adult children and my grandchildren have already seen this new and final “Avengers: Endgame”!

All LOVED the movie. ALL were totally pleased with the script. (No, I wouldn't dare write about the 'endgame.')

Overall with what Hollywood pushes out it does comes across well on the big screen.

Hits the normal politically correct messages while still being entertaining. Has a buried build the wall message from Stark for Trumpers. Has a side character three line gay reference but family and self sacrifice keeps the movie afloat. But in the end if your a Caucasians male just remember to please step aside.

I liked it, but I think the 3+ hour run time was unnecessary since IMHO the pacing was too slow in parts.

1.2 billion and the weekend is not done. Iron Man (1) 585 million over the course of its run. Either there is a lot more inflation than the government admits (in theater ticket prices), or there is a “phenomena” going on. Or, both.
