Avengers: Endgame has done the impossible.
In just five days, the Marvel film hauled in more than $1.2 billion at the global box office.
This shatters the previous record for the highest weekend total of $641 million set by Avengers: Infinity War last year. This has never happened before and marks the fastest a film has ever reached the billion dollar mark.
Infinity War was the previous record holder with 11 days.
In the U.S., the Marvel superhero flick took in a record-breaking estimated $350 million during its opening weekend, shattering expectations. The previous domestic record was held by Avengers: Infinity War, which opened last year to $257.6 million.
Disney bumped up its estimates for the films full weekend Saturday after a record opening day debut, saying it expected the film to gross between $310 million and $340 million in the U.S.

Should have had Deadpool reprising his Ferris Bueller parody in that case.
“You realize your post reads like a lunatic telling me what Allah expects of me as well.”
I only asserted what the Bible (Christian holy text) says on the subject. A lot of folks on this forum accept that as authoritative. If you do not, that’s up to you. My argument is based on the assumption that Christians do wish to follow the Bible.
When someone describes the behavior of others in a negative light this is often what Psychology calls projecting. This can provide an indication about what the problem is.
It is common for certain people to call everyone around them “crazy” and “lunatic” and similar such terms of projection. I’ve seen such people who had to be restrained and highly medicated to prevent them from hurting themselves and others, all while screaming about how everyone else was supposedly crazy. Such people should avoid posting on the Internet when they have quit taking their medication.
There is no need for you to take my suggestion personally. Perhaps this does not apply to you. But, if I am right, then you know I am right and should take the appropriate action. And if I am wrong, it should give you a good laugh. You be the judge. I’m not clairvoyant, so all I have to go by is what I see.
And, by the way, lunatics / crazies are people too. We often use these terms derisively, but in actuality lots of people have real mental illnesses due to trauma which does not mean they are bad people. And sometimes people with mental illness have trouble accepting this about themselves because they do feel some sort of moral stigma or embarrassment.
“Your God tells you that. My God doesn’t really care about my comic book movies.”
Your deity wouldn’t happen to be Thanos would it?
I asserted that Biblically Christians are supposed to care what glorifies and pleases God and should be able to argue that a certain activity does so rather than just falling back on having the right to do whatever I want. I find it odd that someone either cannot do this or does not want to do this but still feels compelled to argue over it anyway. What’s worse is the argument is about as weak as it could possibly be. The argument you have put forward is that your deity does not care about the matter. But you have provided no evidence of any kind. It is just an assertion. No Biblical text. No claim that God told you. No appeal to logic and reason. Just an assertion.
I have no idea what deity you worship, but I’ll concede that he apparently is not my God. Since I posted about what God tells me based on the Bible, and since you posted a comparison of the Bible with the Quran, it is appears that you reject the Bible as authoritative. So, without a Bible, I find it very disconcerting when someone claims to have a relationship with a deity or know what his or her God thinks about something.
Without the Bible as an authority on what God thinks, how exactly do you know what your God thinks about comic book movies?
You accused Maudeen of “hearing voices” (which was a false claim on your part). Now I’m wondering if you hear voices since you seem to know what your God thinks but do not accept what the Bible says.
But the bottom line is that it does not matter whether the Bible declares or God Himself tells us directly that He does not like a particular activity unless we desire to please God in the first place. That’s a more important question we all have to answer when considering what God thinks, wants, cares about, etc.
I agree. Infinity War was a better stand-alone film. This was a grand finale with 7000 cameos, but not a grand script.
I really like the scene near the end (and I’ll vague this) where they slow pan starting with Iron Man and going through all the surviving heroes, roughly in the order their movies came out. Great reminder that indeed that’s who they did the impossible, and built the MCU, like they promised. It was a wow moment for an old nerd who remembered the talk about what they planned to do before the first IM came out, and thinking “no way”. It’s like Kevin Feige looked right out at me from the screen and said “way”.
I hear the same... and her character is a snotty witch in "Endgame" as well. She snarks in the film that she is protecting 1000 worlds while the team is only protecting one... but she fails to realize that there's only 1 Thanos to defeat, so she doesn't have to be in 1000 other places. Idiot.
Well, Captain America DOES take a moment to check out a male ass in the film... but it is a funny moment, not a political thing. (Actually kinda patriotic, LOL.) It's okay.
I saw that and thought it was great for it’s era.
“CaptainAmerica comes out as gay.”
“Oh great. Now, I have no reason to see this film?”
What? You don’t care to find out who his significant other is? /s
You might be surprised then to know that Dean Martin loved to read westerns, and yes comic books. He read them all the time when traveling. So is still the King of Cool?
Avengers the TV show predates the comic BUT Emma Peel isn’t until after the comics. Steed had a lot of partners, he’s actually the sidekick in the first series, BBC does that.
Along with John Steed.
Meh, I’ll wait for it to come out on Bluray.
Why just the first half???
Why just the first half???
Wow. I haven’t been to the theater in awhile.
In the Marvel “universe” the god God is known as “The One Above All”.
Somewhat. DC must have lost the copyright infringement trial against Fawcett because they appealed. The appeals court again found for Fawcett. By this time, the early fifties, comics had lost a lot of readership, and Fawcett decided win or not that comics were a losing proposition. They therefore got out of the comics business and did not “protect” their properties.
The coon was funnier.
Good speech. No one is going to read all that.
My rebuttal is that God better have better things to do on a Sunday. And he didnt leave you in charge.
Think about that before you start inferring that our souls are at risk because of comic book movies.
Dontyou have anything better to do with your time? You are the person shouting outside the theater. No one cares about that person.
Oh put your big girl panties on and lighten up Francis.
