Never watched anything "Empire" but the commercials advertising it and I almost never pay enough attention to realize what a commercial was about...

That said, I think they should have him back and have a scene where he gets attacked by evil White racist homophobes who pour bleach on him....lots of people might be twitching to see something like that...wonder if their producer has thought about it...
