Escalation: Trump to send ARMED U.S. troops to border after incident with Mexican soldiers
The National Sentinel ^ | 4/24/19 | Jon Dougherty

Following an incident involving a pair of lightly armed U.S. soldiers and a squad of more heavily-armed Mexican troops in Texas earlier this month, POTUS Donald Trump announced Wednesday that in the future, American soldiers will also carry additional arms.

In addition, the president opined that perhaps the Mexican troops were not really interested in securing their country’s border as they were assisting a drug cartel.

“Mexico’s Soldiers recently pulled guns on our National Guard Soldiers, probably as a diversionary tactic for drug smugglers on the Border. Better not happen again! We are now sending ARMED SOLDIERS to the Border. Mexico is not doing nearly enough in apprehending & returning!” the commander-in-chief tweeted.

WTF? Why weren’t they already armed?

I believe our President when he suggests this is cartel cover. Mexico’s President can’t control the cartels there.

Never, ever send an unarmed military anywhere.

Given that neither country controls the border, who then does? The cartels, of course. We will be at real war with them soon enough. They have too much to lose to retreat entirely without a fight.

“Why weren’t they already armed?”

Clinton probably Bush, before rent-a-cops became security guards at bases & before 9/11 armed guards at most military establisments looked armed, but they had no bullets.

That said, they were usually reaction forces onboard the bases just in case but the reaction times were probably outside of 10 minutes maybe a little more.

Assisting a drug cartel do what? Bring drugs into America? (I'm sure our libertarian FReepers love that.)

Which means more messycan criminal invaders coming in.

Mr. Trump. Build that wall. Secure the borders. It's been years. Years, and the problem is worse than ever.

What an outrageously novel concept—defending a sovereign nation from invasion by foreign nationals and foreign police and foreign drug dealers at the border by arming your own military, issuing them orders to shoot, and placing them there. I’m sure it’s never been tried anywhere else before. Where do these wild ideas come from?

Mexico’s President can’t control the cartels there.

******************

Mexico’s President is a cartel employee.

Same with all those in the federal House/Senate, and the state level governorships and legislatures that demand open borders.

A whole lot of money goes into those pockets.

Mexico is corrupt. I honestly think they need help.

Look, we know Washington is corrupt too. No need to go into that right now.

Trump is right to arm our troops.

If this happens again, we can simply take the fight to them for a change.

Start leveling known cartel sites for all I care.

As a libertarian I do not love that you dipstick, I am for legalizing everything for 2 reasons, the most pertinent here would be to drive the cartels out of business, but the other is to get the government out of it.
