The guy wanted too much money. That’s all there was to 24’s cancellation.

Sweet! As fate would have it, me and the Little Viking this past weekend (in between worshipping Easter,) were re-watching after 10 years. If you forget most of the story, they are like new shows!

24, CIA propaganda from the post 9/11 era to make sure we all think they’re working so hard behind the scenes. Trying to reinforce that old saw ... If we only knew what they did...

They’ll bring it back. If you recall, the final season ended with Jack being handed over to the Russians. This day would begin with Jack being on the Trump staff with The Donald feeding Jack information back to Putin. Jack has to get rid of Trump, and sets it up to be the Designated Survivor, and turns the presidency into a a politically correct DNC wet dream, and gets cancelled again.

Jack Bauer is the only thing that could save 24.
The last real season of the show (not that "legacy" garbage) was actually very good and we had a lot of fun watching it on the live thread.
And 52 isn't old these days for an action star. Keanu Reeves is 54 and still churning out John Wick movies. Hugh Jackman played an old Wolverine. An older Jack Bauer could be just as interesting.
But Chloe has to be in it too. That's a given :)

They could have Omar and her ilk takeover CTU and prosecute Jack for going after Islamic Terrorists.
Or, they could focus on MAGA hat wearing kids threatening Indians at the Mall simply by standing still.

What they really should do is mimic the old NBC Mystery Movie concept, where they rotated between
McCloud,
Columbo, and
McMillan and Wife and something else. This gave each show a month to produce an episode, which allowed for greater quality.
They could rotate between different CTU locations, each with its own cast. Each weekly story would center on a different CTU (and cast), and each would face some terrorist crisis which would play out over the course of a week (within the 2-hour nightly movie time limit).
Prominent guest stars would be featured each week, either as the target or the baddie. Each CTU might have a different story focus. For example, the Washington DC CTU could focus on threats to the President, Congress, and SCOTUS. A New York City CTU could focus on financial cybercrimes, and Boston-NYC-Chicago threats. An LA CTU would focus on AsiaPac terror. A heartland CTU could focus on homeland and/or international intrigue stories. Or maybe make one a British CTU to focus on European stories.
Each week would be a different movie. Maybe Jack Bauer could be the Director of National Intelligence or something, who has a small unifying role in each show.
