The Florida Highway Patrol says they arrested a man who took extreme measures to avoid paying Florida tolls.
WFTV in Orlando reports that Joshua Concepcion-West, 27, installed a device on his car that shielded his license plate with the push of a button on a remote control.
Troopers caught Concepcion-West dropping the "curtain" over his tag on the east-west expressway at Conway Road in Orlando, right before he went through the toll plaza.
"After he cleared the tool booth, the tag cover came back up and the tag was exposed again," said FHP Sgt. Kim Montes.
"Because the tag was obscured, we don't know yet how many times this vehicle has run the toll, so we don't know how much money he's stolen from the state," said Montes.
Items similar to the remote control curtain that Concepcion-West installed on his car can be found online. Some products hide the license plate, others make them look distorted on camera shots.
Concepcion-West is facing a felony charge (includes petit theft and cheating or gross fraud) for failure to pay a $1.25 toll.
I WANT ONE!!!
Yes, it is a scam.
It is a scam to rape tourist.
The reason Florida does not have an income tax is because of the Tolls and Sales taxes that get the non-residents that flood the state.

Is there anything Florida Man cant do?

Is there anything Florida Man actually gets away with?
A guy in Texas was arrested for the same last week.
I think the K.I.T. 2000 had one too. (Knight Rider)
I am not sure Florida Man wants to get away.
Not paying them is not quite the same as taking money.
Fixed it for them.
Plenty of government stooges assume - and are dumb enough to say - that all is theirs and theirs is all.
Do I believe the driver dodged tolls? Yes. Does the state still have to prove it? Yes again.
Paper does very well.
“If he was that smart he would have flipped a phony plate in front instead of a curtain and billed someone else.”
He had a cheap imitation that makes an obvious black curtain.
The professional ones that spies use flip to a fake plate so fast, the eye can barely see the swap
Solution is no toll roads.
I'll bet that Democrat New Mexico AG Balderdash (D-Mehican drug cartels) will come out with a statement that Concepcion-West is a dangerous felon who should not have weapons around children and families"...
Florida Man is getting smarter...
Should we be wary?
“Because the tag was obscured, we don’t know yet how many times this vehicle has run the toll, so we don’t know how much money he’s stolen from the state,” said Montes.
That sums up the liberal.
I always thought that if the state built a road, it was a public road; that when a private company contracts with the state, then it becomes a toll road. Of course, I’ve only ever heard of one place that a toll road or bridge became a NON-toll road or bridge. The county of Harris, state of Texas, built a toll bridge across the Houston Ship Channel in the 80’s, and promised that once it was paid off, the toll would go away. Instead, they’ve decided to build a 2nd bridge, so each side gets more lanes (a necessity, truly), and proper on and off ramps for 225 on the South side of the Ship Channel. It’s been 30+ years, and that toll will not go away in my lifetime. Hell, they’ve taken the booths out and it’s all automatic now even.
The only place I personally know of the toll being removed was the Coronado Bay Bridge, believe it or not. Anyone have anywhere else?
Florida Man seems interested in obtaining a Cassowarry.
That Florida Man gets around, yo
Meanwhile, as the toll road scofflaw is arrested, 10 children were raped and three women strangled to death in the same area. Well done LEOs!
That was likely Florida Man on his multi state crime spree.
