We are continually amazed at how tone-deaf freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is when it comes to the issues of the day and wonder a) if she has anyone on her staff who is versed in them; and b) if not, why not?
Because she really needs someone who is; she would avoid a great many faux pas if she did.
Take her latest comments on the scandal-ridden Veterans Administration; she claims it “ain’t broke” so we ought not to be fixin’ it.
At a town hall event in New York last week, she actually argued that the system provides the “highest quality of care” to veterans and that any plans to fix it are nefariously designed to maximize profits, not assist veterans.
Even though the VA is a government-run healthcare system.
She means ‘I don’t give a care about the VA nor vets’
Ha. I wouldn't go near the VA if my life depended on it.

Reading between the lines I read that as, “When I get the peons under my control, their health care will not even be as good as the VA gives now.”
Her district’s veteran population is likely less than a tenth of 1% now that the WWII vets are now mostly gone... Probably a few Korean and Vietnam vets, and a GWi or II floating around, but I would be beyond shocked if her district even had a 1/10th of a percent as veteran.

I am disgusted that I agree with AOC on this.
VA care is the very best health care I have ever received.
And all of my Priority 1 fellow vets would agree. At least all I have encountered.
Most, if not ALL of those who complain are Priority 5 - 8. And they have always been “Space Available”. Just like trying to fly home for the holidays from Guam or Germany on MAC.

I just had an incident where I needed a clinic note from the VA stating I was recommended for eye surgery so that I could get ground transportation the day of surgery.
The PA fellow at the VA angered me because he said my eyesight wasn’t so bad that I needed transportation assistance.
I asked him “does it say in my record that I am recommended for surgery?” He responded yes but that my eyesight didn’t justify a clinic note (a task that would take less than 5 minutes).
I called my private provider who took less than 2 minutes to look up my record, another 2 minutes to write a note and email it to me on official letterhead. And the call ended with “Anything else I can help you with today?”
Does anyone see what’s wrong here?
It’s the perfect example of what is wrong with government-run healthcare versus private care.
In the government, anywhere in government, unless you’re a connected democrat and member of the ‘Resistance’, it’s all about ‘accountability’.
Government likes to virtue signal an aura of ‘accountability’ as if’s some sort of halo that allows then to say ‘no’ in fifty thousand different ways.
To survive in government, you need to master the fine art of saying ‘no’ in hundreds of ways. Because if you say ‘yes’, well then you might be read the riot act for assisting scammers or something. Saying ‘yes’ carries implied liability.
Government sucks.
I love my fellow vets. They and I would be much better served if we could sign on to private clinics for care rather than put up with the nonsense at VA medical centers.
The employees at VA health centers are good people, they’ll do just fine in a private clinic setting. It’s just that in a government setting, they suck and they know it.
They saved my life TWICE!

This reflects on the voters in her district even moreso than her. She won her seat with 16000 votes...total! Most voters simply stayed home. So, when you don’t exercise your right to vote, you get someone who is so stupid you wonder how she can breathe without help.
That’s just the thing with her. She’s runs her mouth about EVERYTHING when she don’t know shit about anything.
Think we discussed this before, West Coast VA is way different then Other VAs. Notably PaloAlto VA I do hear horror Stories from others.

Fix those districts that are broken.
That’s what nobody talks about. They want to blow up the whole thing instead of fixing the broken transmission, or replacing the radiator.
They want to eliminate the whole vehicle and replace it with a friggin’ Tesla.
