Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Star Trek: Discovery co-creator and co-showrunner Alex Kurtzman broke down the second season finale in some detail. He also removed any doubt as to where the show is headed:
"We are jumping 950 years into the future for season three.
"We love playing within canon. Its a delight and a privilege. Its fun to explore nooks and crannies of the universe that people havent fully explored yet. That being said, we felt strongly that we wanted to give ourselves an entirely new energy for season three with a whole new set of problems.
Were farther than any Trek show has ever gone. I also had experience working on the [J.J. Abrams] films where we were stuck with canonical problems. We knew how Kirk had died, and we wondered how we could put him in jeopardy to make it feel real. Thats what led us to go with an alternate timeline; suddenly we could tell the story in a very unpredictable way. Thats the same thought process that went into jumping 950 years into the future.
Were now completely free of canon, and we have a whole new universe to explore.
"[The Picard series] going amazingly. We start shooting soon. It will be really different from Discovery in tone, pace, and story. ...Yet, I think people who like The Next Generation will recognize that its made by people who love it equally. It will be really interesting to see how people respond.

I would like to see a series based on the idea that reality is shaped by a consensus view of reality
LOL
#19 you described the democrat party and the corrupt news media. Except they do not want to prevent it. So far we have 57 states and over 70 varieties of humans.
Crap. No canon? Then it’s just fantasy and revision. Crap.
Oh wow...who cares? The UN in space with chicks in command. Let me see if I give a crap.... ope!
The only chick with a command was a seldom seen admiral who was killed off - otherwise command is all male, other than the Klingon matriarch.
I don’t see anything like what comes out of the UN; and it seems to me just because there is a gay couple does not make it politically correct reprehensible as those scenes may be.
Personally, I don’t look at every story as though it is some sort of general political statement, even if there may be one in it. The story arc is the important part.
I skipped it. Now I see reviewers talk about how her character is unhappy and scowly all the time. It will never get better folks, that's all she can do.
Never seen “STD” (an appropriately “punny” acronym). Not about to sign up for a streaming channel just to see it.
no sign up need
Ditto that, amigo.
Excellent: Season 3 will be Starship Edelweiss

Given that the series is on CBS AllAccess, just how ‘legal’ is it to download these episodes?
The only relation this SJW/PC filth has to Star Trek are the names of the characters from TOS, there is no canon Trek since after “Enterprise.” Youtube has many videos explaining the legal reasons and ownership rights as to why this is so.
I googled: why is star trek std so bad?
Many many links with video reviews. I watched a few but really enjoyed the comments as hardly no one is liking the show.
The ship itself is terrible looking. A collection of spare parts thrown together. The actors are dull dull dull along with the writing. The fan films are much more enjoyable.
Streamed not downloaded
The irony is they spent their entire time marketing the show for how "diverse" they are and sneering about how Star Trek has had enough straight white males as the focus... and now the ONLY thing they've had a success with on STD is to showcase the straight white male character of Captain Pike (which they stole from a previous Star Trek show)
