I visited my daughter at college last week. I could not believe the pervasiveness of global warming propaganda.
In the dining hall, every table has a little paper notice reminding the students of all the things the university is doing to fight global warming.
They are actually just the same things that my university used to ask us to do: don’t waste food, don’t litter, only take one plastic fork, etc. But now it’s all dressed up as “fighting global warming.”
The intensity of indoctrination that young people are experiencing is amazing.
Much of this is from the all the damn “administrators” that have been hired at 6 figures a pop! They proliferate the campus and have very little to do except ride the crest of the latest fad. Private institutions can spend their money as they want. However state legislators who are supposed to watchdog state schools have been criminally neglectful in minding the spending at these schools. Every state college\university president ought to be sweating inform of a state committee explaining the growth & cost of these positions.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H. L. Mencken
At the University of Missouri ‘69 - ‘73, we were blissfully unwoke. We were harangued and made to feel guilty about absolutely nothing. You just blissfully lived your life in complete ignorance of all the pending doom.
Then “The Limits to Growth” was published while I was in school and it’s never been the same.
Well, if the agit-prop makes the kids clean up after themselves & practice frugality, maybe it’d be worthwhile.
But from what I’ve seen, it doesn’t.
